Is that on GOG? I searched, but could only find Journeyman Project 2 & 3. I am asking because this series seems really interesting to play, but I am a little OCD in terms of starting any series of any sort, whether it is TV or books or gaming, and I feel like I need to play from the beginning. If it isn't on GOG (which bugs me - why can't you have the first one when you have 2 and 3??), where can I find a good version to play?

No it isn't.

There have been countless discussions trying to establish why that is, and we've come to the conclusion there is simply no logical reason for it.

Maybe the release of TJP3 will accelerate things a little.

dosbox run just fine Win3.1 games, but it needs the source of this OS to be included, which I do not know the legal feasability.

Last nightlies of Dosbox even supports Windows 95 natively and 3D acceleration and Glide and MT32 and so on. Quite a good program.

Yeah, but 32-bit Windows still supports 16-bit applications. Unlike 64-bit versions, which GOG needs to support as well. GOG would need to get an agreement with Microsoft to distribute Windows 3.

Even JMP Turbo! was a Win 3.1 game...the only other possibility is Pegasus Prime, but that game was classic Mac OS only (e.g. OS 9). Someone in the other thread mentioned that SCUMMVM can run it, but then you'd have to deal with getting the rights from Bandai Interactive.

I'm the same way, can't very well start playing the series at part 2. Too bad the first game doesn't run on modern computers, because it looks really interesting.

If gog knows they are not going to get the Journeyman Project 1 anytime soon at all (like in the next 5), then I hope they decide to tell us. I will just watch a "Let's Play" of the entire JP1 game so I can start on part 2.

I'd say chances are extremely low.

It wouldn't matter too much anyway. I don't know about 2 & 3, but JP1 isn't very plot driven. You only interact with one human in the game. There isn't much that would be spoiled or confusing if you just started with 2.

However, if you watch an LP, you'd know all the solutions if you ever wanted to play the first game. I'd say just start playing 2.

Is there no Windows 3.1 emulator that works?
If not, I challenge members to create one!

EDIT: Thought there is one for browser, but that is only for the Win 3.1 GUI and not a real emulator of the system.

I guess there are 3 ways to make such games appear on GOG.

1) GOG create their own Win 3.1 emulator (someone else could do it too)

2) GOG make a deal with Microsoft so they let GOG make Dosbox/Win3.1 packs that would run such games

3) Source code could be reworked (by GOG or by devs)
