Totally know what the OP means. I'm one episode away from finding out if The Fonz water skis over a shark!

NOBODY SPOIL IT!!
***BREAKING BAD SPOILERS***

***THE WITCHER 3 SPOILERS***

***WALKING DEAD SPOILERS***

Well, I hate spoilers, but it's true they don't completely ruin the experience of watching/reading something.

I found out about Hank before I watched the last season of BB, and honestly I would have preferred not to know. But the show was still a trip, so that study linked by SStefania holds true, I guess.

I am going to try this with some series, read the ending before starting.

I also hate the fact that I know there are going to be flying ships in the TW3. I would have loved to find that out during the game, but oh well.

And I read on Reddit that Herschel goes in season 4 :c So yeah, if you're on the internet, you will happen upon spoilers here or there.

The solution is to become a Luddite..for some period of time, oc.

The Fonz bonks the shark on the head then he and the marine predator join in a spirited rendition of Johnny B Goode

At first I was pissed that you spoiled it....

But that sounds friggin' awesome!! Can't wait to see it!
I agree.

The dangerous nature of the net terrified me so many times today, that I needed 3 diaper changes.

Talk about terror, let me tell you, I'm building castles, and think you should too.

I was about to be scared into a 4th change, but noticed you were friendly.

Build those castles strong! :-)

Love me some Stronghold! Pity the sequels aren't that good :(
Spoilers huh? yeah, the best that you could do is to avoid comment sections or the internet all together for a little while.
Spoilers don't bother me though ( usually just wiki the thing in question) but, I'm careful with spoilers around other people.
Spoilers can be an ass if you really are enjoying something. Myself I tend to just give it a while after finding out to actually then go back and watch the movie, it tends to be cheaper too.

Strange thing is that spoilers do not bother me with television shows.
I had been watching Person of Interest but because I regularly missed episodes I just went online, read the entire series synopsis and just enjoyed the episodes I did watch. It might take a bit of the shock out of the series, but at least I could follow what was happening. Thankfully not an issue with games, books or films.

Grargar: Ah yes, spoilers. No, they don't affect me and I have enjoyed many movies, books and videogames which had their surprises spoiled from before and I didn't feel like I lost anything. I mean, we all know that Dr. Jekyll was Mr. Hyde, but I still found the book very enjoyable. If anything, I would say that the opposite is true for me; awesome things happening might actually lead me to watch/read/play something rather than saying "yeah, maybe, in a 100 years".
Pretty much this.
Spoilers are impossible to avoid if you use the internet. You may think, you are being clever by avoiding forums until you finished watching all the latest movies, TV shows etc but then one day, you will be in the mood for an online multplayer game.. You join a game, start playing then 5 minutes later some asshat will reveal to everyone in the game, this person died or this person became this and this etc. Nowhere on the internet is safe from spoilers because there is most likely an asshat lurking behind every corner. Pretend you are a space marine on LV-426... Check those corners... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khDcdiz6PwY

Yeah!! You had me confused for a sec because I thought you meant a 40k space marine, in which I would not be concerned at all, especially if I had terminator armour (evil non-heritical grin)

Matewis: I find I have to be extremely careful opening links and reading comments nowadays. I know what the problem is though and how it can be fixed, but the fix too is very dangerous.

The problem is, I haven't started with the 'Game of Thrones' or 'The Walking Dead' series, but I want to and that means I have to tip toe everywhere I go to avoid spoilers :P Most people on commenting threads are considerate, but of course, not all. Sometimes the spoilers can be very subtle. For example (possible spoiler ahead), I saw this imgur post recently with a photo of two characters from the series, and the top comment although it did not state it directly, led me to believe the one character is well-liked and had been killed off.

The fix is obvious : start watching it, but that is also dangerous, in of itself, as is always the case when you find yourself caught up in a new series. For the moment I am content with watching Mulder and Scully's, uhm, adventures with the CSM.

Am I alone in this dilemma? People always try to get me into new series, and I always fight the urge to dive into it based purely on the significant time drain that results (X-files, Battlestar Galactica, Big bang theory, and so on ) :P
They made a TV show out of Game of Thrones?? Come on, dude! That's a spoiler! I didn't know that! You should have put the word "spoiler" in the subject line! lol. I am basically teasing myself here, because I actually feel the same way that you do about spoilers.

Potzato: I just saw a thing about "anti vaccines movements" .... The Internet is definitely safer.
Just googled that... Just WTF?
