SStefania: Actually, there was a study that revealed that the spoilers increase enjoyment of media :) Here: http://ucsdnews.ucsd.edu/archive/newsrel/soc/2011_08spoilers.asp
I can believe it. Dreaded anticipation beats zomg!surprises any day of the week.

And, honestly, most works (books, movies) are not good enough to warrant another go. So all the ominous foreshadowing and dramatic irony is wasted on me if I don't know what to expect in advance.

I also believe it and while the details isn't in the article they summed it up rather well.
Lol ...Well i guess the internet is dangerous as people lost what dangerous means. If getting spoiled by spoilers is dangerous damn the world is coming to a very dangerous end

What I don't get is why some people think that it is suddenly okay to post spoilers if the movie is more than 5 years old. I enjoyed watching CARNIVAL OF SOULS, and that one is something like 50 year old. I wouldn't have liked to have that one spoiled.
I just saw a thing about "anti vaccines movements" .... The Internet is definitely safer.
If you think the internet is dangerous these days, you should have seen the internet back in the middle 90's before the mainstream media and everyone picked up on it. It was the wild west back then.

The reason is pretty obvious. Usually almost all the people interested in a specific movie have already seen it 5 years after release so you can't spoil anyone anymore.

Seriously, if someone asked me to hide 'surprises' like "I am your father!" behind spoiler tags or not talk about it at all I would ask him to hand over some of the stuff he's been smoking in return.

def.

I am glad I am not the only one who appreciates that analogy. "Railroads" definitely sapped the internet's stray-dog freedom.

Honestly, I thought this thread was going to be about those twelve-year-olds that went all stabbity on each other over slenderman memes. No guns and no video games involved yet still violence...
