I'm in for

Antisquad

I haven't spilled anything on my laptop. I'm actually very careful about this particular thing of spilling anything on my electronics. However I remember this guy who had a spilling problem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-tzs47o33A
Was it oolong tea? I hope the computer is ok.
I'm in for Spate (Steam). Thanks.
It was surely green tea.

I'm in for Fez, thanks.
Thanks for the giveaway! I'd like to be in for the Cat Lady. I've been considering picking that one up for a while now, but somehow I still haven't yet.

I actually spilled an alcohol/soda mix onto my laptop a year or so ago. Fortunately, it didn't do too much damage, although the keys on the left side of the keyboard became very sticky and kind of hard to use. Luckily for me, that problem ended up solving itself. By a bizarre twist of fate, the next week, my laptop's fan broke down. As it was still well within the warranty period, I ended up taking it back to the store, and they sent the laptop on to an HP factory. When I went to pick it up again two weeks later, I got a note saying that they'd replaced my keyboard with a new one, free of charge.

So, two wrongs did make a right in this case? :P
+1 to you sir

Im in for Antisquad .... and im gonna guess that it was earl grey tea

And thankfully i still haven't done anything like that on my laptop, lets hope it remains that way

Thanks for the giveaway

Dessimu: Ahoy! It's a very fun giveaway you are making, makes this Monday morning pretty interesting. I am in for Just Cause (Steam).

I had an accident once, when I flawlessly spilled a full cup of delicious coffee on my laptop. First, I just sat down comfortably in my chair and looked at the coffee-soaked laptop for a minute with a smile in my face. Then I thought "This is it, I'm done. Computer won't recover", yet it did! I just turned it off, unpluged from the power source and used a lot of paper towels to clean the coffee under the computer and from the keyboard. Few hours later, I turned computer on... It works without a single problem even now.

As for the tea guessing... Was it a green tea? I often drink green tea instead of coffee .
Haha! Your comment made my day. :)
You must be a pretty laidback individual if you can face the eminent death of your laptop with a smile on your face. Was that just a small espresso? Because when I knocked the whole cup over my laptop I didn't have time to sit back and enjoy the moment like you did. I immediately flipped it over and watched it pour tea like a fountain.
I've never spilled anything on my laptop because every time I fail, it's truly epic.

That was a normal size cup, 5 times more coffee than 1 dose of espresso. I had placed small pieces of carton under each of 4 "legs" of the laptop. That way I had a bigger space between the table and the laptop, allowing a little more fluent circulation of air. So a big part of coffee spilled under the laptop and then off the table. As for the keyboard, there is some sort of see-through thin plastic membrane between the keys. It might have helped a little to stop the coffee from getting inside the computer. Lucky me :P
In for Deus Ex: Invisible War, thank you!

Don't have any similar experience personally, but my room mate from when I was in university spilled water all over his laptop once. What he did was to turn it off immediately, dry it up with a cloth, remove the battery and then put it in a bag of rice for a few days. It was as good as new after that.

Sounds like a protip! A friend suggested it to me too. I might just buy a big bag of rice to speed up the process.

Yup, rice is extremely good for sucking up liquids. You can also rescue drowned phones that way.
A bag of rice is the way to go!
Not in but wow I am very sorry for your unfortunate accident. I personally never had this happen to me, simply because for somewhere around 10 yrs of personal computer usage, I had this personal golden rule never to introduce foods or drinks near it because I didn't want crumbs or leaky drips to be near the thing plus I am paranoid of accidents. If something like what you experienced were to happen to me, I would straight up yell and worry about it after trying to dry the thing to recover it (removing the battery is a good idea too as soon as possible to dry it separately). I wouldn't care about getting a new one until I did everything possible to recover it. Looking at the posts, seems rice is a thing I'll keep in mind to try were it happen to any electrical device in general in the future.

I don't know much about the variety of teas so I won't even attempt it but I did like lemon ginseng tea, apple tea and lemon iced tea (might've have also tried some blueberry variety, been awhile). Thanks for the giveaway +1 for effort and doing so (despite your situation) with your phone!

Edit: Also, wanted to add good luck recovering it with as much effort as possible!

Edit2: With some encouragement and Pardinuz's permission, I ammend my status and I am in for The Cat Lady. It is the sort of game I want to experience at somepoint because it has this strong theme with dealing with depression. In terms of suicide, I've had personal experince with relatives going through those feelings (some unfortuantely following through) so it has that "how can this game explore this" feel too. Anyway, no disrespect to those who plan to want this game too, just my personal thoughts on it.

I had this personal rule too but I was in a rush to do something and let my guard down. That's just how accidents happen, I guess.

Thanks evreyone who wished my laptop well. I left in a dry environment for 24h and it feels completely dry already. I'm going to try the rice approach now just to be completely sure.

Keep the entries coming. :)
