Continuing the birthday giveaway that started Here, today I have up for grabs a copy of Icewind Dale Complete

RULES:

No rules today. Everyone welcome, anyone can play!

Requirements today. If you're in for the draw post your IWD party (classes, races, and character names - no need to post the stats) Random.org will choose a winner.

A party I took through a while back:

Khaldrik Coldiron: Male Dwarf Fighter
Uriant Valdaor: Male Human Ranger/Cleric
Gardryk Finebark: Male Human Fighter/Druid
Maltriet Blackclaw: Female Gnome Fighter/Thief
Lyrica Jestrea: Female 1/2 Elf Bard
Tylleryll Flaymcast: Female Elf mage

As usual, I'll announce the winner when I hit the forums tomorrow morning and as an added 'bonus' I'll mark the winner with the solution to the thread for a bit of rep boost as well.

Kudos for your great taste in games! ;-)

Not in.
I've never played Icewind Dale, so I couldn't say what my party would look like. I would like to play it and find out, though, so I'm in if that is allowed ^__^

EDIT: If I can't be in for myself, may I be in for wolfsrain, please? :D

Astrid Kantor - Human Female Paladin
Ariel Windstorm - Elven Female Thief
Sonia Ravenwood - Human Female Cleric
Maia Cantrell - Human Female Mage
Gondar Hammerhead - Dwarf Male Fighter
Nyaa Winterforce - Human Female Druid

As you can see, i prefer pure classes, as most of the time they end up doing exactly what they are supposed to do. If I'm dual classing, i'd choose fighter-thief, fighter-cleric or fighter-druid. But i rarely use combinations. They are a pain in the arse to bring them to a fun level of playing them and by the time that you manage to do that, the pure characters are usually way better ( we are talking strictly IWD here ). So that's how my party would look in about 80% cases.

In and thanks for generosity.
I already own the game, so I'm obviously not in, but thanks for your numerous giveaways! ;)

Since IWD is a melee-heavy game, my party was composed of almost only humans, the only exceptions being an half-elf fighter/druid (I needed those healing spells while my human fighter (lv9)/cleric was shaping up for dual classing) and a pure fighter Dwarf to use as tanker. The rest of the party was composed by a fighter(lv3)/mage specialized in bows, a fighter/thief (named Martin Looter King, for instance) and a Bard.
Here is my suggestion for all the new players: pick a bard in your team! That class is obscenely overpowered! With the "War chant of Sith" you'll be almost invincible.

Ditto. I'm in as well if that's okay.

Not in & +1! :D
IWD was the first D&D I bought, just after they all wound up on Mac a few months ago. Of course with the bundle in the summer sale, I now have them all.

Not in, but thanks for the continued birthday giveaways, Coelocanth!

Another ditto here.
I know I'll never try Neverwinter Nights, don't know if I'll ever give Baldur's Gate a chance, but I'm surely interested in IceWind Dale and hope to try it out.
Never played it either so I have no clue. but I'm in and +1 and thanks :)
Great giveaway, Coelocanth :)! I already won one of your giveaways recently (Theme Hospital), but Icewind Dale Complete is #1 on my wishlist at the moment (ever since GOG supported them for Macs). EDIT: I can't do it, I feel too guilty! Not in :).

I have never played IWD, but here is my favourite party makeup for my favourite D&D game, Pool of Radiance (SSI):

Male Half-Elf Fighter/Magic-User
Male Half-Elf Fighter/Magic-User
Male Half-Elf Fighter/Magic-User
Male Half-Elf Fighter/Magic-User
Male Half-Elf Fighter/Magic-User
Female Half-Elf Cleric/Magic-User

Notice any pattern :D? I have tried at least a dozen variations, but this is what I've finally settled on. For names, it depends on my mood, often I just make them up off the top of my head, or steal names from Jack Vance or other literature.

I haven't tried the IWD series yet either, but I'm in if allowed.

Party make up:

*Chun the Unavoidable* Human-M- Fighter
1/2 Elf-F- Ranger/cleric
Elf-F- Cleric
Elf-M-thief/wizard <-- here's my "Me" toon
Elf-F-Wizard
Elf-F-Fighter

* one of my Favorite Jack Vance characters :)

Not in, but thank you.
Human Male Paladin
Dwarf Male Fighter
Human Female Fighter
Human Female Cleric
Halfling Male Thief
Elf Male Mage

Good balance of melee and ranged, a little bit of everything.

I'm in, thanks for the chance!
I'll be in for this - thanks Coelocanth.

As for a party, I found the following party suggestion posted by a certain IWD fan that looks pretty darn good...this suggestion is about 4 years old and it seems this particular fan has changed his mind :).

1) Human Paladin
2) Dwarf FTR
3) Elf FTR/Thief
4) Gnome CLC/Illuionist
5) Human mage
6) Druid or Bard
