Continuing the birthday giveaway that started Here, today I have up for grabs a copy of Vampire the Masquerade - Redemption

RULES:

No rules today. Everyone welcome, anyone can play!

So I'm thinking about vampires and other monsters for this one today, so to enter post a lyric from a song that mentions some kind of monster. You can link to a youtube video of the song if you wish, but please post the lyric in this thread to enter.

I'll start off with a Smashing Pumpkins lyric:

The world is a vampire, sent to drain secret destroyers, hold you up to the flames and what do i get, for my pain betrayed desires, and a piece of the game

As usual, I'll announce a winner when I hit the forums tomorrow morning and as an added 'bonus' I'll mark the winner with the solution to the thread for a bit of rep boost as well.

My Dying Bride :

It is my sins that you deplore
Count them fair, for I have more
To my mouth I carry you
In crimson teeth, the breath I drew

I make you dust, as you were flesh
Honoured to see a performance in death
We have no time, no time at all
There's empty rooms and shadowing halls

Thanks.

Not in!

Regardless, I couldn't resist sharing my favorite lyric from a song about vampires:

A symphony of pain by night.
A newborn child is taking flight.
You just don't know how sweet it is
to die from a vampire's kiss.

"Kiss Eternal" by Lords of Acid

I'm in and for the lyric:

Enter the sixth circle of barren land and flames
Passing through the gate of dis the furies scream her name
Belching forth in agony invoking her to rise
The spirit's rage consuming us the evil in their cries
Queen of vipers, queen of serpents
Cast their souls to stone
Spread to wealth of Gorgon's power
Medusa's inner soul

The song is Iced Earth - Dante's Inferno

In this time :D

"Dracula's Wedding," by OutKast

Give me the chance to dance romance
Don't run, I'm not the sun
So much at stake... oh!
Bad choice of words
But I'm not the gun with silver bullets
And I can count, 1, 2, 3, plus I make great peanut butter
And jelly sandwiches... Van Helsing
Glad to finally be IN on one of these. Happy belated!

"Do you suppose she could change your life?
If she could then i wish she would.
Do you suppose she could save my life?
If she could then i think she should.

It's another busy day for the cut-out witch!"

GBV! GBV! GBV! In reality, Robert Pollard's lyrics have always been a bit impressionistic, but I had to make something Bob fit in here. :)

Edit: Bright Paper Werewolves from the same album may have fit as well. It's one of those GBV song fragments that manages to be better than the full songs of most. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gtj_JRk_Dc4

Happy Birthday!

And every night
You'll feel my bite
You won't be scarred
So be prepared
To feel the pain
Your life I drain
And then we'll be
Baptized in blood

Baptized in Blood by Helstar, from the Nosferatu album
Not in. I remember this was the first game I got when I came to GOG. I was so dissapointed that Bloodlines wasn't here too.

Skillet "Monster"

The secret side of me
I never let you see
I keep it caged
But I can't control it
So stay away from me
The beast is ugly
I feel the rage
And I just can't hold it

It's scratching on the walls
In the closet, in the halls
It comes awake
And I can't control it
Hiding under the bed
In my body, in my head
Why won't somebody come and save me from this?
Make it end!
Not in, thank you.

Reading that line by The Smashing Pumpkins brought to me a lyric of "Ready To Start" by Arcade Fire:

"Businessmen drink my blood
Like the kids in art school said they would"

Another kind of monsters I think.
Thanks again for yet another great opportunity with this giveaway Coelocanth, please count me in with a chance as well. Here are some gruesome lyrics from a Radiohead song about all kinds of vampires. ;)

Are you fracturing?
Are you torn at the seams?
Would you do anything?
Flea-bitten, moth-eaten?

We suck young blood
We suck young blood

Won't let the creeping ivy
Won't let the nervous bury me
Our veins are thin
Our rivers poisoned

We want the sweet meat
We want young blood
My favourite song would be Love Song For A Vampire (Annie Lennox/ Bram Stoker's Dracula), but I don't think the lyrics qualify as the only actual mention of a vampire is in the title.

So, I'll enter with Werewolves Of London (Warren Zevon/ Excitable Boy):

I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand
Walkin' through the streets of Soho in the rain
He was lookin' for the place called Lee Ho Fooks
Gonna get a big dish of beef chow mein

Aaahoo! Werewolves of London
Aaahoo!
Aaahoo! Werewolves of London
Aaahoo!

Ya hear him howlin' around your kitchen door
Ya better not let him in
Little old lady got mutilated late last night
Werewolves of London again

Aaahoo! Werewolves of London
Aaahoo!
Aaahoo! Werewolves of London
Aaahoo!

He's the hairy, hairy gent, who ran amok in Kent
Lately he's been overheard in Mayfair
You better stay away from him
He'll rip your lungs out Jim
Huh, I'd like to meet his tailor

Aaahoo! Werewolves of London
Aaahoo!
Aaahoo! Werewolves of London
Aaahoo!

Well, I saw Lon Chaney walkin' with the queen
Doin' the werewolves of London
I saw Lon Chaney Jr. walkin' with the queen
Doin' the werewolves of London
I saw a werewolf drinkin' a pina colada at Trader Vic's
And his hair was perfect

Aaahoo! Werewolves of London
Draw blood
Aaahoo! Werewolves of London

Cheers!
Not in but I couldn't deny myself the pleasure of adding this:

You fed me long
And by God you fed me well
Sleep tight
This day belongs to you my dear
And I am bound
Like a beast onto its prey
We are one of a kind you and I

Pale moon wander
I'm wide awake
Lord have mercy on my soul!

watasha hana ka chouchou ka oni ka
aware mi mo yo mo araryou mono ka
beni no kawari ni sasu no wa yaiba ja
tanto homete kudashanse

Am I a flower, a butterfly, or a demon?
Ah! Should I no longer be concerned about my body or this world?
What I wield is not a lipstick, but a piercing blade.
Would you be so kind as to give me plenty of praise?

watasha saku hana saite ureshi ya
aware itsuka wa chiriyuku mo hana
en wa kireru ga ano ko wa kirenu
kirerya jigoku ga fueteyuku

I am a blooming flower, happy about my blooming, too.
Ah! However, a flower must scatter away at some point.
I can sever my fate, but cannot sever that child's life.
If I should have killed, only more infernal torture will await me.

watasha karehana oni no tsubomi ja
tomete tomaranu irozuku chiiro ja
beni mo ano ko mo washi ni wa iranu
itsuka tsubomi ni modoryanse

I am a withered flower, the flower bud of a demon.
No matter how hard I try, I cannot stop my being dyed crimson.
To me, neither the lipstick nor that child is needed.
Someday, please kindly allow me to change back into a flower bud.
I'm in +1 for a fun give away I've been wanting this game for a long time. Anyway here's my song contribution:
John Fogerty - Eye of the Zombie

Shadows on the mountain, and the night begins to fall;
Gather up the children, 'fore the darkness takes us all.
Tribe has come together, standin' naked against the night;
Twenty feet from the fire, the evil waits with zombie eyes.

Eye of the Zombie!
Eye of the Zombie!

Oh! Sneakin' through the long grass on leopard feet silently,
A beast already dead comes to join the dance of the zombie.
Ooh! Time has come again - again the moment of truth;
The terror is at hand, and there's nothing you can do.

From out of nowhere he's there, flashing hideous teeth,
Panic in the crowd, helter-skelter, we're brought to our knees.
Back to the darkness, back on the mountain he stands,
You can't fight a shadow, you can't kill a dead man.
Thanks for the continuous giveaways, Coelocanth. Count me in for the Gigantic Blue Eye (aka HypersomniacLive) with this entry:

With a purposeful grimace and a terrible sound
He pulls the spitting high tension wires down

Helpless people on a subway train
Scream bug-eyed as he looks in on them

He picks up a bus and he throws it back down
As he wades through the buildings toward the center of town

Oh no, they say he's got to go go go Godzilla
Oh no, there goes Tokyo go go Godzilla

History shows again and again
How nature points up the folly of men

Blue Oyster Cult - Godzilla
