After this is finally over, I am curious what will Peter Jackson and Wingnut do next?

And are you still going to critisize the 2nd movie ending on a cliffhanger when all 3 films will release on a trilogy collecetion?

AND THE HOBBIT MOIVES IS NOT AND WILL NEVER BE THE STAR WARS PREQUALS OF THIS GENERATION!

Trailer 2 ups the epic:

Especially because they are a rather faithful adaptation of their source material. It's not like The Hobbit is a gr1md0rk book, it's practically a D&D campaign.

One thing that they are not like Star Wars is that they don't have thier own Jar Jar and no Radagast is nothing like Jar Jar, heck Middle Earth already has its own Jar Jar and his name is Tom Bombadil and guess what they cut him out enturely in Lord of the Rings.

The only unfaithful things in the Hobbit movies so far is the additions like the Tauriel and Legolas among other things. If you cut them all out, you would have even more faithful adaption.

Hope so. Either it'll be too epic for them or it'll be very CGI heavy. Army of Balrogs and Dragons...

Even then, it's not like it's completely out of Tolkien's style. Tolkien liked to write romances about roguish men who fell in love with beautiful princesses, as a way to express his own love for his wife. This time the roles were reversed, though, since Tauriel is a "lower class" elf.

You know what tell me, please tell me.

How long will it take for people to stop referring to CGI as a negative thing?

Also I would prefer the Children of Hurin. R Rated Tolkein FTW.

Didn't say it was a bad thing. It'll definitely be CGI heavy though. Morgoth himself and the Valar will probably be CGI, I don't how it can work with actors in a costume.

I am sorry its just that I am a little jaded by all the these Cinema Snobs (Angry Game Nerd) that whines about CGI and wishes for Sets and Props and Make-Up heck even Stop Motion to come back.

I sure like to see these same guys make their own movie using the same stuff.
My criticism is how they cut out so much story and character development to make it a ridiculous action flick.
What the fuck, why would you split the Hobbit into multiple films?! It's was a single story between two covers.

Whats wrong with being a ridiulous action flick?

And cutting out character development? What was the whole point of the flash back Thorin fighitng against the White Orc in the Battle of Moria?

As someone who has read and loved the books, I can say everything. If your favorite comedy was retooled to be a morose noire about dead babies you'd be pissed too. There was nothing wrong with the original stories that this has improved upon.

Also the flash back was character backstory, he hasn't developed.

Well Thorin is definately gonna get character development in this movie judging what part of the Hobbit books we are entering. Same goes for Bilbo.
