HypersomniacLive: What?!? no After Eight mints?!? I protest!

*brings own pack of After Eight mints to treat awalterj*
* Watches gang of sugar crazed kids appear and rip Hyper's hand of as they run past and steal his After Eight mints *

I tried to warn you about these little monsters :-).

First my fingers, now my whole hand... how am I supposed to play any games? Does that trick of yours work also for controlling the mouse along with the keyboard? ;-)

You didn't try hard enough! (◕︵◕)

ddickinson: Or a cricket bat, that would get rid of the vicious sugar crazed greedy little beggars. And it would mean more brandy beans handy for me :-).
With creatures like this at the front door I wouldn't count on the cricket bat, especially if they come in numbers...

Well you do still have one hand, and I know a place that sells sausage fingers. As for the trick working with a mouse, I'm not sure, that's something I have never seen, unfortunately I doubt I could find out - I would probably get stuck in that position. But on the plus side, you can have a cool hook for a hand now :-).

You're right, I'm sorry. But I bet you won't make that mistake again :-).

I don't think the cricket bat would even make a difference with one of those monsters. Lord knows how the world would be able to defend themselves if those monsters ever got together in enough numbers. It would be the doom of us all.

ddickinson: There be no colonial slaves for centuries. Me wonders what they be teaching you is the schools of the Swiss :-).
They teach me lots but me play computer games all night in high school and very sleepy in class. Me only wake up to ask strange questions.

We only studied English history up and including to the Bill of Rights. "England and The Bill of Rights" was topic number 17 out of 17 for the oral graduation exam in history class. Every students would go into the exam room and draw a card and then you would be grilled for 15 minutes about that one topic. Since I realized that I could impossibly study all 17 topics without drastically cutting into my gaming time, I accepted the Universe and Life for what it is and chose to just focus on the 17th topic (England & The Bill of Rights) and then proclaimed that I'm going to go inside the exam room and draw just that topic. No one paid any attention to this as everyone was way too busy being nervous and anxiously hovering over books in hopes of absorbing some extra last-minute knowledge. The reason why I wasn't nervous despite the poor strategy of preparing for only 6% of the material was because I calculated that I would graduate even if I flunked most of my graduation exams.

To my delight, I drew card number 17 (didn't cheat, 3 teachers were watching) and in that moment I thought to myself, I must have a guardian angel, dumb luck alone almost can't explain it. I didn't manage such a lucky draw in every exam but this was a most memorable occurance.
It was only short memory committed knowledge though and I forgot most everything shortly after, in fact I remember more about history from my own books I read as a kid rather than from school which gives you too much material and none of it sticks.
Nowadays, I only study history for my own pleasure.

Not quite!
But lady ddickinson let the little monsters take the mints and rip off my hand. But wait, I came prepared.:-)

*looks left, looks right, then stands closer to awalterj and tries hard with one hand to pull out of pocket a second pack of After Eight mints*

Got it! Victory!

It seems my plan worked. I thought to myself, if I use more simplified English, will awalterj do the same, and you did, YAY! Okay, now did you do that deliberately, or was it unintentional?

As to why I did it, well it was originally going to be pirate talk, but I decided to try a little experiment, because I am too tired to sleep and that's when my mind begins to wander >:-).

* Whacks Hyper (playfully) on the head with cricket bat for implying I let it happen *

* Pokes him with the bat to make sure he is okay after he fell to the floor *

* Looks around to see if there were any witnesses. Runs like hell to avoid getting into trouble *

* Feels guilty and goes back to make sure he is okay and to apologise for hitting him so hard *

* Finds his hand lying on the road and sticks it back on with tape. Good as new *

I posted a link to the cookie monster video so that subliminally made you talk in cookie monster lingo, even if you consciously think you're doing pirate talk and are imagining this to be some sort of plan of yours. The truth is, I turned you into a cookie monster, you didn't turn me into a pirate!

Besides, when I talk about food I talk like the cookie monster and when you put a bag of cookies in front of me I treat it the same way the cookie monster does.
I already ate the mints HypersomiacLive gave me so don't get any idea with a second group of kids who rips off his second hand or any some such :P

awalterj: ...
But I already had the plan before you sent the video. But I guess your comment about speaking like the cookie monster when confronted with nice food is acceptable.

As for the group of kids, it's not up to me what the kids do, blame the parents for letting them loose every Halloween.

* Looks out of boarded up window and spots the group of kids sniffing around awalterj. They smell the mints! *

* Sees him run to the safety of his bunker, followed closely behind by the now cannibalistic sugar crazed ten year old kids *

Though I can't leave Hyper out there, especially as he is still out cold after my little tap with the cricket bat.

* Risks own life to runs back to Hyper to drag his semi-concious body to safety. Tells him it was awalterj who hit him *

Well, congratulations to the winners and thanks to Dee-Dee (it just cracks me up to call you that, sorry XD) for hosting the thing. The discussion is going too fast for me to follow, but I'd like to point out that I liked the voice acting for FFX. I didn't exactly love Tidus, and the laughing scene sure is obnoxious (although it didn't seem to break my immersion quite as much as others'), but in general, I found it pretty good. Special mention to the voices for Auron an Yuna, who happen to be my favourite FF character and my favourite female FF character. Fun fact: much of the cast for FFX also appear in The Animatrix. Incidentally...

*does whirlwind pillow attack and hits everybody in the room.

That's what you get for mentioning that ungodly abomination that dares call itself a sequel to FFX. I brought my own PJs, by the way. They're sober, manly, and absolutely neither skimpy nor pink. Now can we go back to playing Civ IV? Man, you guys really don't know what a LAN party is supposed to be, do you? ¬¬

As per the results, they are not surprising, but they should not be seen as representing the general male/female gamer demographic, only male/female goglodyte gamer demographic. Sports games are very popular among males, but it's only normal the average goglodyte doesn't like them (there are almost no sports games on GOG to begin with, unless you count racing games (which GOG actually does)). And of course, any girl knowledgeable enough about games to know about GOG is probably going to like pretty much the same good old games as the boys around here. My point being men and women are probably not all that different in terms of gaming tastes, but they're probably not as similar as these two GAs would seem to indicate. After all, for goglodytes it's less about being male or female, and more about being discerning, educated gamers. But I digress...
