Tekkaman-James: What are some other manly anime that you gents enjoy?
Well, I grew up watching Saint Seiya and Fist of the North Star, so there is nothing to describe here! ;)

I agree with you on Berserk: the manga is better than the animated adaptation, yet they are both great works. By the way, have you already watched the "Berserk: The Golden Age Arc" films? Imo, even if obviously shorter due to time limits, they capture the spirit even better than the series.

If you want to drown yourself into a sea of nonsense, I also recommend "Cromartie High School": A description I found:

"Folks, meet Takashi Kamiyama. Enrolled at Cromartie High, where everybody is a delinquent, Kamiyama is apparently the only non-delinquent in the school. Logically, therefore, he must be the toughest in his class - by the rather twisted logic that only a really tough rabbit would lie down with lions. Thus begins a story that parodies every cliché of tough-guy anime that you've ever heard of, and some you haven't. Oh, and Freddie Mercury is in it, too".
Also, the mention of Slam Dunk is needed! A great comedic anime about a team of rookie basketball players signed by the masterful Takehiko Inoue (if you -a generic you- never heard of him, just do a quick reseach and remain impressed by his drawing style, especially in Vagabond). Also, the Italian localization is probably the best ever made!

What can I say... aMEN, BRO! XD

Tallima: 'I have a boyfriend' is the easiest way to get a man to leave you alone. Because he respects another man more than you. #yesallwomen"
The interpretation is silly. Another interpretation would be that the guy respects your choice of someone else.

Still, in this case most men left her alone, they just showed their (unwanted) appreciation.

You have a point. Most men out there, when speaking to a girl, aren't interested in hurting her. It's how the whole thing works. We see a girl who may look appealing for one way or another, we start a conversation, and she can let us know that she's taken. So we back off.

But I think she's talking about the overtly sexual, ass-grabbing pig type of male. They're out there. Plenty of them. And I think she's talking about how those guys can really just lay into them until someone says they have a boyfriend (which could be a threat in some way).

Anyway, it doesn't hurt to treat women as humans. You know, civility, kindness and friendliness. Not 'Hey sugar!" "Rouwww!" "Hey baby! Yeah! All walking and stuff! Yeah! *whistle*"

Fist of the North Star is undoubtedly the king of the MANime genre. A very fine choice.

Saint Seiya, not a MANime, but nonetheless an amazing series. It is a shame that it doesn't get the same level of love in the States as it does in most places around the world.

Enebias: By the way, have you already watched the "Berserk: The Golden Age Arc" films? Imo, even if obviously shorter due to time limits, they capture the spirit even better than the series.
The first film left a lot to be desired. The second and third films were much better. While they are certainly beautiful to look at, they really only exist as fan service. If someone was using these films as an introduction to the series, they would be so lost. So many important moments and character development are excluded for the sake of the running time. Heck, I don't think they even said Rickert's name until the third film!

Aside from the art, I would much rather watch the TV series over the movies. I've heard talk of them possibly making a new TV series that picks up where the movies end and will aim to animate all of the story. If that ends up being true, then the movies get a free ride because I'll finally get to see Serpico in animation. #TeamSerpico

Oh, that series is wonderfully ridiculous and is certainly part of the MANime sub-genre. Mechazawa is arguably the manliest robot in the history of literature.

Enebias: Also, the mention of Slam Dunk is needed!
Indeed! Again, not a MANime, but an excellent series. Kuroko's Basketball and Haikyuu!! are getting so much attention right now, but those series wouldn't even exist if Slam Dunk never happened. While I do not enjoy sports or sports-theme video games, I really enjoy most sports-themed anime series. Slam Dunk is one of the best!

There's a test that can be done here to determine things at least in one direction. Suppose the woman says "I have a boyfriend" and the guy backs off. If she then continues to say "but, I don't really like him that much. I'd love to find a better guy." If this rekindles the interest of the guy, then obviously it was the woman's choice which he respected. If he backs off anyway, then he either cares about the boyfriend or the institution in general (the idea of a couple).

Haha! I love it.

Ragnarblackmane: C.F2P/Pay-to-win because they ruined an entire genre of games, to my mind. I really enjoyed some aspects of WoW and Warhammer online before the massive rise in F2P MMO's came along and dramatically altered the entire culture of those games. There's no such thing as a free lunch and F2P games prey on the naive and reckless.
Except for Path of Exile. :) But otherwise, I completely agree with you.

Marvel Heroes, from Diablo creator David Brevik, is an honest-to-goodness free online ARPG. Anything that can be bought with real money can also be bought with in-game currency. On top of that, nothing that can be bought with real money makes the game better or easier. If you're a fan of Diablo 1 + 2 or Marvel's superheroes, you should check it out.

Ah, see I was staying away from it because my impression was that it was pay to win. I might have to check it out then. I am a fan of everything diablo and love Marvel. So yes. :)

But is the in-game currency to dollar skewed like it is in Rift? For instance, it was a few dollars to get the auction house, but cost a ton of platinum.

Not familiar with Rift, but here's how it works in Marvel Heroes:

The game uses a few different types of currencies, but the kind that is used as a replacement for real money is called Eternity Splinters. They drop from enemies in the game. You get one roughly every 10 minutes and you need 175 to get a random hero, 200 to 800 to get a specific hero of your choice, and anywhere from 20 to 300 for various other items. I've been playing for about a year and I have lost track of how many of this currency I've spent, so you can definitely manage quite well without spending a dime. Still, with that said, I've probably spent around $250 on the game for various reasons over the past year, but that was completely my choice.

My pleasure! Send me a PM if you do start playing and I can help to show you the ropes. ^_^
Damn, all male sleepovers are the most boring thing in the world, apparently :P
Not in, but thank you ddickinson as usual.

Q1 :
FPS : Just because it's a catharsis !
RTS : Good for my sense of the priorities and organization and because it's always interesting to conquer territories little by little until I destroy ennemy's base.
Point & Click : A good story, pleasant characters and (not too difficult) puzzles to solve, that's all I want.

Q2 :
Sport Games : I don't practicize sport in real life, why in video games ?
"The Sims" look alike games : Boring !
MMORPG : I can't bear to play a game which has no true end...

Q3 :
I like to play girls in games because they are often more smart, more charismatic and they have boobs !
Hum, seriously, they just bring something of different, even in a common situation ( ex : Cate Archer is sarcastic but not vulgar as a man could be in a similar situation).
