wpegg: You do realise that doesn't qualify for the giveaway? Has to be one of the unclaimed character.

spindown: I'm not doing it for the giveaway, I just like the idea of having some more Grim Fandango avatars here.
Good man, +1'd. That's the attitude I like. Welcome to the club!
Well, count me in the club as well.
I hope one more Calavera is not a problem.

Nice picture.

Incidentally, was it a deliberate pun when you said there were "Many Calaveras"?

Haha, no it wasn't. I haven't noticed it until you wrote it the right way....
But I guess we can use it from now on.
In my short presence here in the GOG fora I have seen more than 5 persons with the Calavera avatar.

wpegg: Oh, I forgot to mention the prize...

I'll sponsor your avatar. If you wear one of the suggested (and not already taken) for 2 months (or one that I also think is valid), it's a free $9.99 GOG. PM me on Feb 1st if you do. Given the number of easy giveaways at the moment, I suspect no-one will bite, but it's worth a shot. Oh, Azdeth, Detlik and Vorax, you also qualify.

darknath: sweet giveaway idea :D

love it..

though i cannot participate.. can't take fry down.. just can't
I feel exactly the same way.

+1 for wpegg tough. great idea involving great game
I'm in with Don Copal, dude! Cheers to the Fandango mob, great game tho.
After my exam period I'll be playing it again, it's said.
I used to have the exact same avatar as you. Then I changed it to Sam. :D
I'm not entering into this contest cause I love my Lorax too much, but this thread has forced me to reinstall Grim Fandango and start playing it again. Thank goodness those awesome folks who made a launcher for it also made an installer for it. Poor old bird won't work at all on Win 7. Fans to the rescue!
So, never let it be said that I am not a man that pays my debts. There are a couple of days left, but if you PM your game choices, they're yours.

Incidentally, if you choose to surrender your Grim avatar, please post to say so, so that someone else can pick it up.

Next sponsorship deal is a 3 month long one (May 1st pay out). Existing owners get preference.

Oh - and no one ever took mercedes - why?

Great idea, Grim Fandango is really an awesome game. But I just can't change my avatar, it's part of my identity ;-)
But +1 to you.
I am proud to be member of this cult!
This thread is awesome, it really made me smile.!

I'd join, but I could never get the game to work on my PC when I had a disc drive, and I don't have one now so unless it comes to GOG or somewhere like it I'll have to stay a Grim Fandango virgin.

You guys look very cool when you all post in a row though :D

I just wanted to thank wpegg for his great generosity and gifting me a game for using one of his avatars :)

I want to point out , that Im keeping that avatar for good ;)
I'm a HUGE fan of Grim Fandango, its a game that I just keep going back to over and over. There are issues installing on 64bit systems though. Thankfully there is a 64Bit installer for the game made by fans so I can still play it. The story is amazing and the characters are some of the best ever created for a game.

My favourite bit is trapping the aligator with the front of the car to get past, also the bit with Glottis heart and the spider web. I love the bit also where Glottis tricks out his car, the video sequence you get is absolutely amazing.

I have changed my Avatar to Celso to keep in line with the Grim Fandango fans :)

Poor guy, you do meet him a few times during the story and he has done quite well for himself when you finally meet him again at the casino. Hes a good man waiting for his wife. I'm pretty sure you see him in the end sequence on the train also.

I will also add the avatar to this post if the OP wants to grab it. I will be keeping this avatar for good now though :)
