gooberking: That gives the community the ability to trash posts they don't like. Which isn't necessarily a good thing.
Not downvoting. Reporting as spam. Plus, the chances are that if something gets say, 25 reports within a 10 minute period. It's probably spam.

IIRC, it used to work like that but it led to Gamerager getting banned and having all his posts deleted.

I understand that. What I am saying is that if there is a large enough group of people not liking where a thread is going, they can all "report as spam," and the thread disappears. Down voting becomes obsolete. Sometimes it could be useful, but it's one of those things that would likely get abused by someone.

That's interesting to hear. From what i understand Gamerager used to be a bit of a troublemaker. But these days he stays out of trouble.

TET mentioned some anti-spam tools are going to be running soon, so hopefully that will work.

Yeah, it doesn't matter anyway, as GOG seem to have something new to try and tackle spammers.

I still think limiting new accounts posting privileges is a thing to look at. Like a new account can make up to 2 topics and maybe 10 posts in a day something like that. But I know it isnt up to me, I just hope GoG's new scarecrow they are putting together works.
