ddickinson: * Wednesday Bump! *

My apologies for not posting more facts myself like I normally do, but unfortunately real life problems have been taking up much of my time this last week and is likely to do so for the rest of this week. But thank you to everyone who has posted an interesting fact.

For those who haven't posted a fact, it's not to late, the giveaway will run until Sunday 30th November at 12:00 GMT.
Hope that the problems are nth too serious, and that everything works out to your satisfaction a.s.a.p.

Thank you. It's nothing too serious, thankfully, but it has been quite time consuming.
I'm in and I'd like to go for number four reward choice if i win.

Interesting fact about Austria:

Austria built the first modern electric tram line in Europe. It was built in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was then part of Austro-Hungarian Empire, in 1885. This line served as a test for Vienna electric tram system, which was built in 1897.

I couldn't find the picture of a tram from 1885, so I've included one from 1901. I'm told it's a similar model.

Still not in, but I'd like to point out that Austria produces even more skiing champions than Switzerland but the rivalry between the two countries is friendly.

Here'a picture of Austrian champion Anna Fenninger and Swiss champion Lara Gut who are besties in real life, not just for the camera. This is what sport should be like, friendly competition!

—————— GIVEAWAY CLOSED ——————

The fourth Great Nations Giveaway has ended. Thank you to all who submitted an interesting fact about Austria. The winner of the Austrian giveaway is mrkgnao, who wins the Austrian made game, Schein.

I will try to get the next Great Nations giveaway started sometime next week. Rather than highlighting just one nation, I was considering hosting a festive special that highlights the many regional traditions that countries have in December (such as Switzerland's sinister Santa sidekick, Schmutzli). These traditions can include those regions who do not celebrate Christmas, but rather their own events, as I am interested to learn more about how other cultures celebrate their own festivities in December. Whether these be Pagan (Winter Solace), Christian, Atheist, Jewish, Muslim, or anything else. If it happens in December and is an interesting fact about your country, religion, or culture, then it qualifies.
The winner of the Austrian giveaway is mrkgnao, who wins the Austrian made game, Schein.
Meow!!! ヽ(‘ ∇‘ )ノ

Cheers, ddickinson, for another lovely The Great nations GOG GA! :-)

Looking forward to the Regional Traditions Edition, will be interesting to see what peeps will share.
Thank you, ddickinson, for another innovative giveaway.
Thank you again, trentonlf and HypersomniacLive, for supporting me.
Off to play (Gray Matter).
