Grand Finale eh?

Steam goes bankrupt and is bought GOG,
Gabe's insanity forces him to retire in Arkham Asylum,
EA fears the influence of the everygrowing DRM-Free GOGism and in a last and desperate attempt to counter their downspiraling profit margins they adopt the GOG buisness model.

All of this planned, conjured and designed aeons ago, by Engimatic T's forefathers who where enlightened high priests of the Church of Dagon.

The announcement that EA has bought CD Projekt and that the Witcher 3 is now an Online F2P game.
Shortly after that EA will close GOG and the customers are transfered to Origin.
runs away madly cackling
Now I'm going to have nightmares Schnuff, thanks a lot!

Hey it could be worse....one day after that MS buys EA and announce that every game is optimized by their
experienced programmer. Of course The Witcher 3 would get a new code because it must now run on tablets and
with Windows Phone. (and there are no longer Mac games available) and Kinekt

Ok, not realistic enough?

How about Cypress goes bankrupt and all the moneys are frozen.

Or the USA gets informations that Canada has weapons of mass destructions (known as Mounties) and invades
this nefarious country with the full force of the NYPD....sadly every server goes down for an unlimited time....
at last till every cop gets enough donuts.

Or GOG tells us that they have read all of the complains about the prices and as a result they change it....there are
now only 2 categories 9.99$ and 19.99$...oh, and they close the forums but no worry, the new forum is now
on Facebook......The Witcher 3 gets a little change it now is a social dating game with RPG elements.

I know you're more or less joking, but I do wonder if GOG, at least, might have a chance with the new Disney ownership, since (as you mentioned a while back) Disney and CDP.pl have a previous relationship. I have a hard time believing Night Dive would be able to get in where GOG can't (as far as an entire catalogue of games goes).

On the other hand, if ND wants to bring the first System Shock or No One Lives Forever 1 & 2 to GOG and Steam, I can see that happening...

But you also pointed out that it has been suggested CDP.pl would not want to "interfere".

Yes, my personal opinion has been swaying back and forth on that. (I can not provide evidence to back up the "not interfering" sentence, I just remember one or two forum members suggesting that.) I don't know if CDP.pl would feel like they're "abusing" their positions to discuss Disney getting the LA games on GOG, or not. But as for the time frame, I think it would make sense in as much as taking months and months to finally bring the games once they were with Disney. Perhaps EA being on GOG helped a little even though EA doesn't have publishing rights for the older titles.

Really, though, ZeniMax appearing would make more sense as GOG is of course trying to keep the Fallout games (or at least Bethesda [they're getting the rights, correct?], assuming only a subsidiary is interested in appearing). Or Gearbox if original Homeworld re-releases are happening soon, or the original Wasteland since we know that is coming.
I would like to see all of the Silent Hill series that made it to pc appear on gog. Aswell as the Fallout's and Elder Scrolls from Bethesda. This includes Redguard and Battle Spire. I also want to see Final Fantasy on here, but, they want us to sign in with a square account. If I remember right gog asked us about that in one of their survey's and we collectively told
Square to go fuck themselves. Something I still don't regret.
GOG will have another great sale, they will give away at least one more goodie (maybe Major Stryker or Halloween Harry since both are available free through 3D realms' site, but they would be even better with the full GOG treatment). On top of that, probably Wing Commander Prophecy Gold will be released as well as Wing Commander Armada at $5.99 each. There will be at least one new publisher (and, yes, it could be Lucasarts as it actually is plausible that Disney will work with GOG as it is a win-win for both parties) and probably another indie bundle or two (or perhaps an Indy bundle if they do land Disney/Lucasarts).

After that, we will wait a couple of months, then it's time for the Holiday celebrations to begin.
Suffice it to say, I think this will be a good rest of the year for GOG and all of us in the GOG fan community.

Those who already own Witcher 1/2 by now, will get Witcher 3 for free when it's released!

Hey! One can dream!
avatar
ZapMcRaygunn: This is how it will go down. First, there will be an announcement that GOG will have exclusives to Lucasarts (although only upcoming releases on the label, now property of Disney). Lucasarts' new releases will all be Star Wars themed platformers with cartoony graphics. A new platformer about Lemon Boy saving Citrusland called Adventures of Lemon Boy will be released exclusively here on GOG for half off for the first week! That's only $99.99!

Then, after a week or two will be the announcement that GOG.com is officially changing its name to IFOPLA.com and selling nothing but cartoony platformers (Iffy Overpriced Platformers.com), then two weeks later another name change to GOGAIFPLAWVEPACAAR.com (Good Old Games And Iffy Platformers with Very Expensive Point and Click Adventures and Remakes.com) and sell many more platformers with very expensive point-and-clicks and remakes with about one classic every three years or so.

After that, two small lumps of putty will shout "Neep Neep Neep!!!" and the entire world will come to an end.

Okay, that was all in good fun. Now for what will really happen:

How's that saying? If you're gonna dream, dream big - or something like this, right?

Of course GOG posted the new contest thread when I got up to take a dump.
