I think the day I see Europa Universalis or Majesty on here is the day the Singularity is complete.

Does anyone else find Paradox interactive to be just about the coolest game company in the world?
i think Paradox is a pretty cool guy, makes hardcore strategy games and doesn't afraid of anything.

their games are already DRM-free on their own website (GamersGate). why bother waiting for them to turn up here?

Paradox has a lot of quality titles, so they would be most welcome here

I added a lot of their titles to the wishlist, so you can vote for them there :)
Doesn't Paradox own and/or operate GamersGate?
As odd as this might sound, I can envision a future for me where the only games I play are PI titles....so much there if you can dig in.

PS, I wish I hadn't bought many of their titles via Steam....

Their best game is Arsenal of Democracy, in my opinion. But Majesty Gold was good, it showed they had a knack for fantasy as well as historical.

Well Majesty Gold isn't their product, it's Cyberlore Studios.
Paradox bought the rights to the game and franchise.

Yes, Paradox owns and runs GamersGate

edit: but seems they became two separate companies in 2008...

Wouldn't mind seeing Paradox/AGEOD games here.

And since it's possible that the caca will hit the oscillating device for trying to lead GOG (further) astray, better get the hazmat gear out.

Well, I can't corrected.
They are a really good company. The fact they published mount & blade series makes me like them even more.

I don't know that they put their name on a bad product. I am a huge history guy,l and a budding wargamer, so they are right up my alley if for no other reason than to pique my interest in eras/conflicts I have yet to research sufficiently!

PS, Two Thrones on GG is a steal at a dollar! Good entry point to the PI "System" too.

yeah, but AFAIK they are still owned and operated by the same entity. you can tell because Crusader Kings 2 DLC can only be bought through an in-game store using GamersGate's own digital currency, Blue Coins (does not apply to the Steam edition of the game).
These games came into my attention just recently, and though they look like they provide a terrific and unique game experience, they also seem to be tremendously complex. Is it easy for a complete newb to jump into them? Are there tutorials or anything?

they sure as heck aren't!

yeah, each game has a tutorial. of sorts. the older games (EUIII etc.) only explain the interface with a ton of text messages. the newer games (CKII) have actual tutorials explaining game mechanics, telling you what to do, waiting for your actions, etc.

so, the newer games are much easier to get into. in fact, their latest game, Crusader Kings II is probably the best starting point.
