No one liked Enter the Matrix but i genuinely had fun in that game... Trickstyle is a Wipeout meets Tony Hawk pro-skater style of game, with really nice music....

Another one would be Daikatana, i really like that game... i picked it up after Heavy Metal FAKK2 another that tanked..

Gunman Chronicles is the last i can think of, based off the original Half-life engine, good fun story and exciting storyline...

F1ach: I never understood the hate for Risen, I thought it was good tbh.

Navagon: The PC version received good reviews. It was the 360 version that was utter crap.
I heard the only complaint for the Xbox 360 edition compared to PC Was the interface, which is understandably natural, Since i don't have the money for a PC yet i might pick up the 360 version. Couldn't be worse then Two worlds or sacred 2, which while receiving poor reviews, i found rather good (loved the weapon system in two worlds and magic.)

iainmet: Clive Barkers Jericho, very console orientated shooter but the locations and time shifts are really good. Not as good as Undying but still a decent shooter.

dirtyharry50: Nice to see the remarks here about Alpha Protocol. It looks good to me and was already on my Steam wishlist, waiting on a sale again.

I checked and found Jericho on Steam for only 5 bucks and there's a demo so it is downloading now. What was "console" about it specifically? Is it best played with a controller? I'm fine with that if so, am just wondering. I read one comment about difficulty being tough from the start? Anything to that? Anyway, I'll have a go with the demo but would love to hear a little more detail on Jericho.
It has a few quick time events in there and it actually shows the 360 buttons even when played with keyboard / mouse at such times. I personally play it with a 360 pad as it is setup perfect for use. It feels like a port from 360 but with higher res visuals. It is a fine shooter with strong mechanics though and being able to switch to other team mates means you can play it in any way you want really.

I've been struggling to recall any so I'm glad you mentioned Gunman Chronicles. I also think it was underrated. One review was particularly cruel and said it should have been released as a free mod.

It's one of those games that had a few classic moments for me. Like the one where you're in a low tunnel and you think you're safe from a massive boss robot outside. So while you're thinking "I wonder if shooting at its legs will register as a hit?", it leans over and sends a rocket down the passage.

I have Jericho on 360 and PC, but back when I played it, I didnt have a pad for PC, its handy to know that it works with a pad, think I'll have to dust it off shortly and play it again.

On thinking back, one thing I do recally was peoples attitude towards Codemasters. On release day, they had DLC for purchase, one was a code you could buy, so you didnt have to do the QTE's. I actually cancelled my LOTRO and DDO accounts and never played them again, because of this, I dont think I ever bought another Codemasters game either, but I cant be sure about that, I had planned not to, but I cant confirm if I did.

Read marcusmaximus' post. In short, it plays like crap on the 360.

I really liked TW, once its patched and installed it runs great, I have TW2 on 360 and PC, it's really good. Sacred 2 gets alot of (imo) undeserved hate.
Far Cry 2
Alpha protocol
Daikatana - yes, first chapter is a mess, but antic and medieval chapters were great.
Jade Empires - "worst Bioware game"
Also yes, Two Worlds was better than oblivion.

I also agree with the following games:

Jericho - It had some pretty damn fine ideas in terms of your squad and their powers. It did however suffer from trying to funnel you down a very narrow experience, both in terms of how your powers could be used and just generally how narrow and linear the corridors really were. There was never any illusion of playing it your way. You were only ever able to do what the developers expected. In that regard it deserved to be criticised. But it still remains an enjoyable enough game.

Rogue Trooper - Again, it got wrong what Arkham Asylum got right. In AA you were the Batman. In Rogue Trooper you're not really let off the leash enough. Still a good game despite its constraints though.

Cryostasis - Easily one of the top ten FPS I've played. I've never bothered to work out such lists. But that's the kind of area of greatness it's in. Yeah, sure it doesn't run on a lot of systems and the ice breaker ship isn't the most exotic of locations. But other than that it's got a lot going for it that few can equal.

gameon: prey got 7/10 on most places,
7/10 is actually fairly good, but regardless, it isn't what Prey got 'most places'. It got a metacritic of 83. Which is pretty damn good by any realistic standard.

Far Cry 2 also scored highly. In fact I think the reason it got so much of a backlash from gamers is that once again reviewers were too scared to say what they really thought.

DrIstvaan: Might and Magic 8. I recall it got some pretty horrible scores, but I found it to be an enjoyable, albeit half-complete (at most), game. Sure, it wasn't as complex as MM7 (or even MM6), and a number of balancing issues and bugs stayed in the game, but overall, I did have fun playing it through - it just made me wonder how much better if could have been, were the developers given enough time to finish it.
That's true! I love this game just a bit more than MM6 but much less than MM7 (my favorite from the series). I think MM8 deserves better reviews. On the other hand MM9 was also criticized but this time I completely agree with the verdict: this game is a crap.

I've just recalled: I really enjoyed Submarine Titans although the game is not well known nor well rated. But still I had a great time with it years ago.
I'm getting more and more the feeling that reviews no longer rate the quality of a game, but it's mass appeal. That doesn't mean I think popular games are worse than cool, hip indie titles. But I guess that Alpha Protocoll would have received better grades if it would have been a CoD or GoW like shooter.

Game reviews aim to answer 1 question: "Should one buy that?". If you go into too much detail on the story the reader will froth at the mouth and yell "Spoilers!". If you go into technical problems, the publisher will bitch and moan that they're "fixing it right now in a patch". If you decide to draw parallels to much earlier games the editor will tell you that the audience won't get the references. Currently a review is a very wordy way to say whether you're glad you bought your review copy, or regret getting it for free.
I have to agree Jade Empíre was awesome.I still don't know why people consider it the worst of Bioware. The setting was unique for an RPG,the graphics are still beautifull and the combat and loot are great

Bodkin: Jade Empires - "worst Bioware game"
The Room

It is still to this day one of my favorite games.

The game 'RUNE' comes to mind as one that generally received low review scores, but I found it to be one of the most enjoyable third person hack'n'slash games on PC at the time. There was a lot of great level design and exploration, and the combat was brutal and bloody. Add on the fact that the multiplayer was a ton of fun that kept me engaged more more than a year, so I think it was pretty much under-rated.
