Some pages ago there was a thread about kids getting high with sounds, so the economy's back into shape now.

Actually people are willing to spend more money on such brainless productions than on anything that requires a least a little effort to think. Not that I don't like to watch something simple from time to time (hell, I saw "The Expendables" few weeks ago and had a great time, even though it's definitely not a story-driven production), but nowadays it's more difficult to find something interesting to watch in the nearby cinema, because of a lot of a "saw-like" crap.
I've never understood the Saw and Hostel series. They are SO bad. And before you fanboys start throwing darts at my picture on your walls, yes, I have seen the first Hostel. And tried to watch the first Saw.
They literally suck. Badly.
Look on the bright side. At least it kills off Linkin Park's vocalist, and hopefully we won't have to suffer that music ever again.;P

I rather enjoy Linkin Park.

Actually entertainment product (DVD, games and CDs) tend to go up during a recession as more people have more time to kill while looking for work. I don't know if that extends to cinema or not though.
