Thief, because i can use it to up the reward, to find new dialogue paths or do the usual shady stuff. And i like the fact that you always have to be careful with this little bugger - tons of damage, not much in defense.

I prefer archer or some class with bonus for range combat. As I always play like a coward, shot and hide is my favorite tactics :) And if you can grab back arrows from dead bodies it's fantastic ^^

I'm in, because RPG's Rule!

My favorite class is the Ranger. Typically, they have basic-to-moderate skill in many types of weaponry (i.e. longswords, daggers, bows, etc.), making them very well-rounded for combat situations. Their ability to track and set traps is always an advantage in stealth scenarios. Finally, their ability to influence and/or control animals and animal-intelligence level monsters always makes for good fun. All in all, the Ranger is easily my favorite class in a fantasy RPG setting.

Can't I multi-class?


Well, if I had to pick one, it would probably be the mage, as it offers the most versatility, but if I have to go at it alone, with no party to back me up, then probably the Cleric.

Actually, come to think of it, as you said that I could pick some other CRPG class, I would go for the summoner, from Tales of Maj'Eyal. Having access to a versatile array of creatures, and if I ever feel lonely, I can just summon a dog or something to keep me company for a while.
