Do I need to come and torment you, people?
If you don't like light blue glowing men in a suit disturbing your peaceful nights with awful lectures about how their style is much, much better than yours, you should really consider to enter this giveaway (and with "consider" I mean "ENTER NOW, MEATBAGS")!

Do not participate and... well... prepare to swim in a good quantity of translucent ectoplasmic blob. Don't say I didn't warn you!

Hmm. Well, ghostly sir, although I must say your ectoplasmic offer Does Sound enticing...(I hear some people are really *into* that kind of thing, what with the swimming and the verbal abuse) BUT NEVERTHELESS I think I will have to participate after all.
However, seeing as I have recently been the beneficiary already of a few things, I see no other choice but to say...
I'm in for Enebias for Little Big Adventure 2!
See what you get for your troubles? XD

Indeed, i AM a fan much more of either 3 OR 5 over collections of four,

Vythonaut: Maybe it's just that people who don't enter the GA, love stuff that come in sets of three or five... :P
but that being said, certainly the first thing that comes to mind is t̶h̶e̶ ̶m̶i̶g̶h̶t̶y̶ ̶g̶a̶m̶e̶ ̶G̶a̶u̶n̶t̶l̶e̶t̶ oh, what's that? someone already got that one? In the first post? Drat.
Ok, well then of course the concept of F̶o̶u̶r̶ ̶E̶l̶e̶m̶e̶n̶t̶s̶ ̶c̶r̶o̶s̶s̶e̶s̶ ̶m̶a̶n̶y̶ ̶d̶i̶f̶f̶---Oh. someone said that too? Several people? Even talking about the way it can be found in multiple different mythologies and fiction? I see.
Hmm.
At this point I'm tempted to just look at the other posts (the original Fab Four? nope, totally obvious) and pick two more things that I realized people had posted, which I would have posted...but I don't think the joke would still be funny by the time I got there, (no wonder I like 3 and 5 better) so to go from the ridiculous to the sublime, how about an actual answer!

I'm a fan of the Four Directions, with their corresponding 4 colors, revered in Native American spiritual tradition.
They're also believed by some to be symbolic of the four "corners" of the planet/universe...
Check it out: http://www.stefanduncan.com/four_directions.htm

Also worth mentioning, perhaps, is the (related?) expression, "scattered to the four winds."
Certainly, we always talk about winds in terms of their direction, so maybe there's some connection? :)
My family is a set of 4: me, my wife and two children.

(Not in.)
I'm in for Little Big Adventure 2

I'd say the TMNT (Raphael, Leonardo, Donatello, and Mike) why they were one of my favorite cartoons growing up and probably is part of my obsession with pizza granted I don't eat as weird a toppings as they did but I can't seem to get enough pizza.

BUMP... for great justice!
*bump-er*
Belated thanks to everyone for the wished on my awesome, but long gone by now, foursome combo, and to F1ach for the vid. And cheers for sharing your favourite ones, even when you have on interest in the prizes.

And I’m going to need someone to post in between, so I can post all the replies I want to, but already know won’t fit in a single post. :-)

grimwerk: […] He introduced us to the four fours puzzle: That is, using 4 4 4 4 and mathematical operators, make all the numbers from 1 to 100:

44/44 = 1
4/4 + 4/4 = 2
(4 + 4 + 4) / 4 = 3
etc.

We did a handful in class, and that night, I stayed up late with my parents, puzzling out all but three (if I remember right) of the numbers from 1 to 100. It was excellent fun.

Not in, thank you.
That is a very interesting game, will have to test myself, thanks for sharing. :-)

foxworks: Congrats! I'll have to ponder this question a little more. Hopefully in that time you will have more entrants and your post becomes "high rated" :D
Still pondering? ;-P
avatar
genkicolleen: […]

and my personal favorites:

Myself + my sibs
My little brother's four kids
and
My kids plus my sister's kids!
Greatest foursomes of all, thanks for sharing. :-)

Crewdroog: […]

I rowed in high school and college, and my favorite was to row in a four man boat.
Not rowing anymore?

Oh, and slash that influenza virus with your mighty sword and axe. Speedy recovery! :-)

avatar
Lifthrasil: My favourite foursome ... oooh yeah! There was that one time in school with three girls from my class who dared me to... nah. Let's keep it R rated. :-)

[…]
Was that in grammar school? ;-P

avatar
Accatone: […]

As a film buff, I have a weak spot for quadrilogies […] Unfortunately, I could not say the same thing about the latest Indy film. One of Spielberg's worst, unfortunately.
Totally agree with you there, should have never left Lucas' mind.

avatar
Cyberevil: Hmmm this thread isn't nearly as dirty as I wish it was but I'll add THIS just for my own amusement...

[...]
Yeah, had to keep it R rated, but hey, you spiced it up a bit! ;-D

avatar
Cyberevil: [...] but apparently you can't beat madth3 to a comment on the gaming deals OR the foursome thread :P

Oh and I'll be in for hummer010
Or on comics. ;-)

IAmSinistar: Just chiming in here to say one my favour fours are the seasons. I love living in a temperate zone where each of the seasons is distinct, they give time and life a unique flavour every day.
You're extremely lucky, we have mostly two seasons here since many years. If Spring and Autumn dare make an appearance, it's usually so short that by the time one starts to enjoy it it's already over.

avatar
budejovice: ]…]

EDIT: And to go back nearly as far, in high school some friends and I called ourselves (jokingly) the Awesome Threesome Plus Jeff.

Poor Jeff. He turned out more awesome than the rest of us. :) And though we now live about 1800 miles apart, I take a mountain-climbing trip with Jeff every year.
I guess Jeff took his revenge for not being a full member of the Awesomes to turn them into a Foursome. ;-P

With out tires I could not enjoy one of my passions, driving. I would not be able to get behind the wheel and feel free. I could not feel the wind in my hair. I could not get from one place to another (I do not live in walking distance of anything lol) I could not use the truck to move things. I could not get to the food store. =)
But you don't need tires to meet up with us, even if we're not in walking distance. (~_^)

Great passion you got there though. :-)

Our Autumn and Spring have seemed to change duration somewhat of late, whether due to climate change or something else I know not. We had barely a month of leaf change this year before the trees were bare, and the cold began to descend with a vengeance quite early.

An other answer is: my BASS! Because of the 3 fat strings. Just kidding. Playing the 4 fat ones is King, it's energy, it's rock'n roll, it's freedom and let me do divine noise, man I love that instrument =)

[…]
You should get better acquainted with our nautical bass player, Vythonaut.

ddickinson: Now where did I leave that Hyper trademark giveaway entry. Oh yeah, here it is... Not In. :-)

[...]
Hey, you should know better than use a trademark without permission. ;-P

I was going to say the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (Conquest, War, Famine, and Hyper, sorry, I man Death), but I was beaten to it. So how about the Four Horsemen of the AGOGalypse (IAmSinister, foxworks, trentonlf, and of course, HypersonicLive!). :-)

[...]
So, are the roles of the Four Horsemen of the AGOGalypse still the classic ones? I bet I’m still Death in one way or the other, but what about the others? :-)

avatar
Vythonaut: [...]
My favourite things that come in sets of four are.............................................of course my Bass Strings!! Well, i love them because without them i can't play my favourite musical instrument. And if i can't play it i'm sad. So - you guessed it! - they make me happy! That's why i love them. :D

[...]
And you should get to know our Jack Keane shrine builder.

MadalinStroe: [...]

The best four Sergio Leone westerns: A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly and Once Upon a Time in the West.

Great choices, +1. :-)

3. The Romans used to clean and whiten their teeth with urine. Apparently it works (ewww)

Well, one reason to be glad I was not born during the Roman Empire years. ;-P

It doesn't last even that long here, it's usually a matter of a couple of weeks tops.

We still a couple of games that no one claimed yet, hope that will change in the next couple of days.

I will this urn over the weekend and select the winners on Monday, Dec 15, .sometime in the afternoon (my timezone, that's GMT +2).
Updating OP now to reflect this.

I guess they are the classic ones, I never gave it much thought. As for you being Death, well I leave that up to you to decide. Knowing your lust for power and your love of death, destruction, and blood lust, I'm guessing you want to be War, so you can kill as many as possible. :-)
Not sure if anyone said this yet, but I have four limbs! I really like having four limbs, it's gotta be one of my favorite things about myself. (Of course, I have no problem with people who have less or more limbs than that.)

I'm not in.

I'm in for Terraria :) And what can I say? The Beatles are called the Fab Four for a reason.

Also my house has four walls. I'm certainly thankful for that, especially during this unnaturally heavy winter rain.
Thanks for the giveaway, to all involved!

I would like to be in for Little Big Adventure 2 (already have LBA1).

I'm going to mention my take on the famous 4s already posted, which immediately come to my mind in I frist saw this thread:

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, as depicted in Supernatural. I just loved their versions: as a flu-like sicken guy, who sneezes and coughs on top of a disgusted clerk (then entering a green car, with lots of fly surrounding it), [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaYnz8HR6yY]Famine feeds from other peoples succumbing to their desires... And Death just had one of the most coolest music intros ever!

I can't say I'm a great fan of the Fantastic Four, I like reading some stories, but can't really say I like them enough to be considered a fan. However, some of my favourite stories were the ones created by Byrne (loved his art too).

So, to be in, I will add a still posted foursome: Queen! For me, they are indeed the best four man band ever: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsl3gBVO2k4
