Hmmm this thread isn't nearly as dirty as I wish it was but I'll add THIS just for my own amusement...

oh and i was also going to mention the 4 horsemen of the Apocalypse, but apparently you can't beat madth3 to a comment on the gaming deals OR the foursome thread :P

Oh and I'll be in for hummer010

Just chiming in here to say one my favour fours are the seasons. I love living in a temperate zone where each of the seasons is distinct, they give time and life a unique flavour every day.

Funny, I was thinking also of the Four Seasons but the Vivaldi ones. :-)

And I wonder why no one has posted something like The Beatles or some other four member band. I'd have to go with R.E.M.

Oh, and I guess I'll be in for Silver.

An excellent choice as well! I have multiple performances of that in my classical collection. Vivaldi's Four Seasons, along with Mussorgsky's Pictures At An Exhibition and Holst's The Planets, are some of the best pieces for conductors and musicians to create individualistic interpretations of.
Not in.

Have good memories of playing 4-player Goldeneye.
Count me in for Blood: One Unit Whole Blood.

I wanted to mention that one of my favorite comics-related foursomes is Cap's Kooky Quartet, a.k..a. the Avengers circa the mid-1960s: Captain America, Hawkeye, Quicksilver, and the Scarlet Witch. They were called that because the big name founders had just left for various reasons (Iron Man, Thor, Ant-Man and Wasp, and Hulk had left a while before) and it was widely believed that the group would flop. Rather than flopping, they had quite a bit of success and are probably the smallest group of active, official Avengers ever. (Also, their stories were quite a lot of goofy fun.)

madth3: At certain point in time, it was a common thing that one or more of the FF would quit or leave the team (like when Sue was pregnant), to be temporarily replaced by some superhero. I think even Spiderman was one of the temps. I love how it was mocked by Evanier and Aragones in Sergio Aragones Massacres Marvel.
For as much crap as the Avengers get about how many people have been in the group, I'm pretty sure nearly as many have been in the FF, let alone however many characters have been in both!

Ah, you just named two of my favorite pieces: Four Seasons and The Planets. I can listen to those almost any day. (I've also had my share of amusement while listening to Mars and having random co-workers/passer-bys wonder why I was listening to the Imperial March; my amusement came from pointing out how much of the Star Wars soundtrack/themes were blatantly stol///// inspired by Holst's work.)

I like classical music but I'm no conoisseur. Yet, a particular version I liked was a cello arrangement of Winter I found at Magnatune
Not in, but thank you for the giveaway!

For some reason a particular foursome that I had is coming to mind right now. OK, now that you've gone there, not that.

I grew up in Fort Worth, TX. What is now Naval Air Station-Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth used to be Carswell Air Force Base, which was an element (and in the late cold war, the largest bomber element) of the Strategic Air Command and ran nuke capable B-52s, plus support planes.

There was a golf course not far from the end of one of the runways. One weekend, I had to have been in middle school with the Cold War still going, I joined my father, brother, and a friend of mine for a foursome of golf. (I have only played booze-influenced 9 hole par 3 courses in the last 20 years - not a golfer...) Drills were not publicized.

Imagine our surprise, then worry, then accelerated heartrates as 30+ SAC bombers and 10+ KC-135 refueling planes scrambled, with just seconds between them. This young'un's imagination ran a bit wild.

Pre-internet, we verified the drill (which was massive) in the newspaper the next day, but having not been incinerated with the rest of the planet the day before, we were pretty sure that's what it had been by then.

EDIT: And to go back nearly as far, in high school some friends and I called ourselves (jokingly) the Awesome Threesome Plus Jeff.

Poor Jeff. He turned out more awesome than the rest of us. :) And though we now live about 1800 miles apart, I take a mountain-climbing trip with Jeff every year.

I'm in for Dessimu - with his awesome pirate Santa avatar :D

The first four-ish thing that comes to mind is the 4-leaf clover

Ghostbusters is a 4 person team, yep, and so are many RPG groups like the first Lufia games & older Final Fantasy titles. Also many of the 'put together' bands like the Monkees that came after the Beatles had 4 official members at a time. Most chairs have four legs, most mammalian pets do too. The old ancient/medieval view of the elements & temperaments were in fours, as has been mentioned. Cars have four wheels, usually...

I would like to be IN for madth3 please and thank you!

And thank you for a wonderful GA!!!! +1!!!

One of my favorite things that comes in four. (Seasons would be top of the list but as it is already discussed I am going with another of my options)

Tires! (yes you could buy them separately but shh)

With out tires I could not enjoy one of my passions, driving. I would not be able to get behind the wheel and feel free. I could not feel the wind in my hair. I could not get from one place to another (I do not live in walking distance of anything lol) I could not use the truck to move things. I could not get to the food store. =)
Not entering, just dropping by to say thanks to Hyper for the giveaway, and to IAmSinistar and budejovice for their donations! +1

Sets of 4? How about a band with 4 members in it? ;)
Not in but thank you for the giveaway and +1 for each of the seven elves.

My favorite foursome would occur whenever I'd win at Connect Four. Do you remember Connect Four? Such a fun game.

Just remembered the NES Four Score and Ivan 'Ironman' Stewart's Super Off Road!! I remember a friend had that setup for his birthday party and I was unstoppable when we played. Ha ha, the memories come back to me on GOG.

That's a really awesome Giveaway! :) Kudos to HypersomniacLive and the generous guys! *applauding*

Funny (and first thought) answer: my flat / apartment! Because it has 4 walls and it's luckily dry and warm. And that's really my favourite place on earth; all my hobbies and interests (and devices for them) are there. And my killer seal! ;)

An other answer is: my BASS! Because of the 3 fat strings. Just kidding. Playing the 4 fat ones is King, it's energy, it's rock'n roll, it's freedom and let me do divine noise, man I love that instrument =)

I'm in for Dessimu because Silver is pretty good and I just can't let down a fellow goger who's searching their rum! ;)
I am IN for Blood. Thanks for the GA!. Regarding your question, I say: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Aaah, my childhood....
