I remember a game being developed by Silver Style/Deep Silver some years back. It was The Fall:Last Days of Gaia, a post apocalyptic style game in 3D. I anxiously waited for a release in the English language but it never came, and I wondered if GOG might consider rereleasing this game also with an English language option.

I realise it might look a bit outdated now, but the game I think would be fairly good.
Unlikely as, as you pointed out, there's no official english version, only fan made translation.
Really? No official english version? I only have the Czech version, thought that when it gets translated to Czech, it's bound to have been translated to english too... Oh well, it's not really that good anyway

English version was announced but never finished as Silver Style Entertainment was taken over by The Games Company in 2006 and turned into xbox360 game development studio.

There also is a Polish version. Just checked, you can buy used copy for ~$3 :)

So, is the game worth learning Polish? ;-P

I don't know :) Remember reading about it once after finishing Fallout 1 and 2 and what I read did not convince me to buy it :)

It's not even worth learning Czech, and Czech is far superior to polish
off the back of this thread, i was intrigued so i researched it and purchased the "reloaded" version from amazon.de. for EUR 6 all in.

from what i could tell in my research, thisis the better version, in which all the bugs are fixed, all patches applied (up to a "1.10" which removed starforce) texture revamp and other such stuff.

looked like it would be worth the punt with the english mod applied (just text, but i can live with that)

"Šukat" in Czech means having sex, "Szukat" in Polish means searching. Our language is fucking hot chicks while yours is still searching for them.

also fyi, there appears to be a "the fall mutant city" currently on sale at gg (in german, of course) which it appears is a spin off, but apparently it seems, had even worse ratings than the first one....

just an observation, i found it odd, as id never heard of the last days of gaia, then all of a sudden......

Why would we search for them, when they search for us?

Mutant City is... crap. It is a point and click adventure and has nothing in common with Last Days of Gaia (which isn't THAT bad when you play the "Reloaded" version with all the fixes).

Last Days of Gaia is an okay game, but it has some points where you start to wonder how stupid people are.

*SPOILERS AHEAD*

The game plays 20 years after some terrorists used terraformer technology on Earth (the whole world turned into a dessert). And what happens? After all that time humanity isn't able to build anything more advanced than a shack built of junk. And they all seem to suffer from some kind of heavy amnesia! In one sidequest an old guy finds a flyer of an indoor swimming pool. He sees the pictures of all the water and the trees and thinks he found a secret map (there's a "How to reach us" section on the flyer) to some "Garden of Eden" or something. Idiot... I think I still could remember promotion fliers and swimming pools after 20 years... The idea is funny, but they all act as if they were born in a Vault-Tec vault which was closed for 200 years...

Even though it was a bit illogical, I liked the ideas they had. I still remember this scene where you met a group of people who were worshipping the "Railway God" at a train station O.O Totally nuts. I loved the game for those moments (and there were a lot of them). They just tried to hard to be "Fallout 3" (the Van Buren one, not the Bethesda one).
