mrmarioanonym: SkyUI is great. Wish I had it on my first playthrough.

SimonG: How stable is it, I'm still a little bit nervous as the game is quite new.
the new patch made skyrim extremely unstable. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

I hadn't tried the new beta 1.3 patch. I'm assuming it's not worth it?

you mean beta 1.4.020. it brushes up the shaders a bit, but the crashes and input lag aren't worth it. shoulda stuck with 1.1. that one was almost perfect.
So um guys? Is there a mod for Skyrim to make it more colorful? I do know there is one, I just want the BEST ONE EVAH.

You're probably talking about the FXAA injector and that is by far the best one out there.

Slightly OT: I've just given the new HD texture pack a whirl and the improvements are minimal but noticeable. Mind you, I've kinda gone off Skyrim temporarily, seeing as this is the view out of my office, which is where I'm spending 11 hours a day at the moment.

There are those "sexy cities " mods for each city. Quite the riot on TES nexus, they look like they might be your thing. The "sexy" is somewhat misleading, as it "just" a very well done graphic update with no "sexy girls" or anything like that.
Anyone else having problems with Skyrim lately? I installed it earlier today and it has closed down twice by itself. People on the Steam forums say that it's somewhat common if you've installed the High-Res pack.

Well, it depends on your memory (RAM + VRAM combination). The High-Res pack needs more memory than the standard Skyrim-edition-textures.

Can you try disabling it from the data files option of the launcher?

Isn't 8 GB RAM enough? The game plays fine, no problems whatsover, no stuttering (I play on medium settings) then suddenly bang.

8 GB RAM is indeed enough. What is the memory of your graphics card?

Anyway, if you play on medium settings, why bother with this pack? Do you see any significant visual enhancements with it enabled?

I do encounter a lot of more shutdowns than before. But I also "upped" the number of rather invasive mods at the same time, so I'm not sure who to blame.

I'm playing on "medium" (I think) and I find there is a tremendous improvement in graphics. Before it was "nice" now it was "WOW". The only downsider, which I discovered directly after installing them was a slightly increased load time. Yet, still fast than Oblivion... (on the same rig!)
Well, this is different.
There's a fix for this mod on the nexus that adds a dead horse and people whipping it next to where this thing lands...

Ever since the CK released I have been checking the nexus for mods that might encourage me to reinstall Skyrim, I'm still waiting for the complete Conan/Valeria outfits mod so I can play Conan the Argonian, but this almost got me to reinstall... Armoured Sabre Cat Mount!... as someone who grew up on 80's He-Man cartoons I have to have this mod.

That felt mean.

If it was a cake then they'd have a point. But who could hate Space Core?...
