Saw it. I've been expecting a fifth entry for a while now. TES is just too fat a cash cow. It's only been delayed because of the paperwork involved with the merger with iD.
@Beth

Please update the damn engine, and hand-place the content in the game, do not auto generate it, saving the modders the trouble to go over every damn object in the game to fix its position and what-else not.

Their games may look shiny from the outside, but the "inside scripting" is quite bad compared to what modders do. (this is coming from Oblivion, I haven't played FO3 or Las Vegas).
Well.. There goes another 300 hours..

I went to PAX and saw their latest engine. ID Tech 5, the most state of the art engine just released, is only available to Zenimax studios, like Bethesda. So yea, Elder Scrolls will probably be using the ID Tech 5 engine, the most state of the art commercial game engine available. Hooray :D
Pre-ordering.
Meh... I want to see a game play trailer, not some slow moving. vague cinematic which tells me nothing.

They've said like, a thousand times that they're not going to use iDtech 5 on this game. I don't really keep up with the news because I can't run the games and I've heard that. They're probably just updating the engine they used for Oblivion/FO3. I do wonder how iDtech 5 would run nice forested areas though... I wish we'd seem some ingame shots during the trailer.

1. If they officially announced that Bethesda gets IDTech 5, then why would they NOT use it for their next huge release?
2. Where did they say that they wouldn't use IDtech5? I want to see this article.

This is just what I've heard a lot. For all I know, I'm talking out of my ass (and sorry if my initial post came across as hostile, it wasn't meant to be). As for why they wouldn't use it, it could have a completely different structure than the Oblivion engine (Gamebryo? I have no idea what it's called) and updating that engine would be better to them than learning how to work an entirely new engine. Also, Zenimax owns iDtech 5, not Bethesda. Zenimax owns both of them, but for all we know, iD and Bethesda don't talk to each other at all (EDIT: id Tech 5 games would be distrubuted by Bethesda not Zenimax themselves. I should probably see about wiping these posts to save myself from the shame of being horribly wrong). Zenimax did announce that iDtech 5 would only be used by people who would be distribued by Bethesda, so Bethesda could work on a game using iDtech 5 in the future, or they might even be working on one right now, but it's probably not Skyrim.

Pretty sure they're using Gamebryo again -- just 'updated.' Didn't care for Oblivion for a litany of reasons so I don't see myself getting this unless they make significant design changes which I doubt they will.
Gonna be getting this. Don't care about the game itself though, the modding community makes these titles worth playing. Just hoping they actually hire a decent writer, more than 3 voice actors and hire someone who can design levels intelligently (not copy and pasting 100 times).
Max Von Sydow!

O yea, the game...ehh, don't really care after Oblivion. Rather play Morrowind again.

Well that was pretty damn awesome looking.
