I love this game, but i dont like dosbox much. i never did finish the game, always got sidetracked.
Does GOG use source code for whatever they do to get it to work on Xp/vista? still not sure how they do it yet, but from what i heard bethesda lost the daggerfall source code somehow.
Dont have loads of fond memories from Daggerfall - but I never played a patched version (twas during the dark age of no internet for me). Most dungeons ended up being buggy, plots went awry and so on. It was a lot of fun just roaming around doing random things though. But ambition might have been too high..
For the bargain prices on here, I might try it again if they actually fixed a lot of the bugs in those patches that came for the game later on..

Dosbox works well, but you kinda have to regress to the horrors of the DOS game setup age to get it to work right.
GOG already uses it for Descent 1&2, at least. It works fine. It's all about who sets it up, really.
