It's Wing Commander: Kilrathi Saga .... *wakes up out of a pile of drool*

HertogJan: That's probably due to the issues they had passed year.
Several other major abandonware sites still offer several or all Ultima games for download.
avatar
Delixe: Are you happy? Going around crushing men's dreams just for fun? TRULY HAPPY? -_-

I'm sorry.
Luckily your avatar speaks of forgiveness.

TheCheese33: See, that's the RIGHT way to go about this. "Yeah, baby! Something big is coming up!" Just being excited for the news should be enough, but everyone, including me, has been swept up in a fury of trying to unravel the mystery. You may be the only one that isn't disappointed when the dust clears!

50 pages of that wouldn't be very fun.
I have never played Ultima, so if it is EA coming to the table, I'd rather see some of their other games before that.
Also, to the person who said that it may just be a small thing and not some huge publisher, the staff's responses show that we're not aiming too high in the sky with that notion. I am 100% certain we will see a giant publisher coming to GOG.
avatar
KEgstedt: Thus, as far as speculation goes I think we get a whole lot more (relatively speaking) out of continuing to ponder the significance of the hints and their exact wording as it relates to specific game titles, rather than trying to infer some kind of seemingly logical but ultimately even more speculative link from game X to developer Y to publisher Z.

actually, no matter what it always comes down to the publisher. the only way to get the game is to get the rights from the publisher. so, if we are getting a game, that means that the pub is coming with it. obviously we almost never get the entire catalogue from that company, but bottom line is you can get the publisher without the game, but not the game without the publisher. and in the end it has almost nothing to do with the developer in any way, except if they are in the clue.

So I'm still not sure about the "Expect the Unexcelled", but with the t.r.o.i.k.a. clue and the "Where history overlaps with the present time" clue, I suppose that could be ToEE: history would be the fact that ToEE itself was an ancient Greyhawk setting campaign back in the old, old days, but it was brought up to "the present time" with 3.5 rules...
Kind of a stretch, but so's almost everything here...
Of course the actual announcement would have to be something much bigger. I'm just saying that the newest tip (that I've seen) could continue to reinforce the Troika line of reasoning.
"Twitter is over capacity.
Too many tweets! Please wait a moment and try again."
Stop refreshing every 6 seconds guys. ;P

The past overlapping may also be an hourglass set in an anti-grav field, and that 'past sand' goes up, and blah, blah. Stretching is all we have now. ;)

PRINCE OF PERSIA! UBISOFT!
Wait...

Damn, they're already here.
I'll take a shot then: it's Ion Storm.
unexcelled: Deus Ex
karmic awareness: no idea
history overlaps with present time: Daikatana
I really don't believe in what I wrote, but I tried.

Yeah, I think I just might have far too much time on my hands. :-)
And going over this list with a fine-toothed comb in this fashion (using the big-name publishers only), the list goes something like this:
4. Eidos (6 games on this list)
3. LucasArts (8 games on this list)
2. EA (18 games on this list)
1. Activision/Blizzard/Sierra (22 games on this list)
SO, EA, ActiBlizz and LucasArts are ALL "top 3" according to this. I guess the next site update will help make this sort of guessing game thing far easier because it'll a) eliminate any non-PC games (if that is indeed the intent), b) eliminate all the games that are already ON the service, and c) we'll have some way of sorting by publisher.
That's my guess, anyway.
Also, I will continue to read the thread, it's going to take up some serious time, but it will happen before Thursday.
EDIT: Fixed the point where Bioware WASN'T an EA subsidiary. That was my mistake, thanks so much Sevius for informing me of my blatantly ignorant error.

Wow, that's a helluva list. (Although I'd like to note that Bioware is a subsidiary of EA.) Great job!

BJWanlund: Atari:
IW (Independence War?)

I don't remember who wrote "IW", but i was sure he/she meant the godawful [sorry] Infinity Ward.;)

Neat, thanks for the effort! Good luck ;)
Deus Ex?

Deus Ex :)

I don't think it's Deus Ex though. GoG is making a really huge thing out of this, so I believe it will be something exclusive, or special in some other way. And the problem is, that Deus Ex is easy to get and you can even find it on steam for a few dollars... it would be a bit anticlimatic if the countdown was only about that :)
I mean, dont get me wrong, Deus Ex is AWESOME, but I want something I cant get elsewhere :P
Anyway... amazing job on that list! I wonder if GoG won't be afraid to post more clues after this :)

A friend sent me that as a surprise gift. Fully boxed and everything. I fainted.
