I dunno. Just saying it's interesting. Ultima IV was the only one actually released as freeware that I know of.

i really hope it's NOT red alert series or command and conquer because that would be a huge disappointment to me... unless it comes with other games..
but i guess it would make a lot of other people happy

[edit] I don't think I've seen this level of fervent speculation since I first saw those Lost/Last Supper pictures ahead of the final series.

That's probably due to the issues they had passed year.
Several other major abandonware sites still offer several or all Ultima games for download.

KEgstedt: Just to push back a little against what seems to be the overall consensus at this point, I think the whole "it's the publisher, stupid" approach to the hints could be a mistake. Sure, if GOG gets developer X or game Y that naturally means that publisher Z is involved in some form or another, but (just to restate the obvious) it still comes down to exactly what games are included in the deal, and it may not be even close to the entirety of the potential retro catalogue of a single larger publisher. And while GOG could possibly add more games from the same publisher later on, there's no guarantee that they will be able to.
Thus, as far as speculation goes I think we get a whole lot more (relatively speaking) out of continuing to ponder the significance of the hints and their exact wording as it relates to specific game titles, rather than trying to infer some kind of seemingly logical but ultimately even more speculative link from game X to developer Y to publisher Z.

From that post and all the hints its the Deus Ex Saga, with Snowblind.... since the reboot is coming... i only say Deus Ex from the title countdown otherwise it could easly be like Aliens vs Preditor or some such... but im now leaning twords the entire Deus Ex, Invisible War, Snowblind set of games... Thief series from looking glass could easily be it too... since a reboot is coming quite soon... but still Deus Ex

And i'm pretty sure it's not GOG going into physical form of distribution.

See, that's the RIGHT way to go about this. "Yeah, baby! Something big is coming up!" Just being excited for the news should be enough, but everyone, including me, has been swept up in a fury of trying to unravel the mystery. You may be the only one that isn't disappointed when the dust clears!
