"GOG.com - DRM-free classic PC games. Cheap. More clues! Where history overlaps with the present time."

TheCheese33: Holy shit, that was fast! Yep, it's EA. Red Alert.

It could be Civ, Rise of Nations, or practically any game involving time travel.
Activision published the Civ: Call to Power game.

Yes, C&C series certainly fits the bill there, but it's not 100% sure yet though. To feed the Troika flames, wasn't their first game steampunk style mix of old and new?
But either case, that clue certainly narrows down options. Meaning no System Shock .:( Oh well, there is still hope, and in the end hope is all we have. Though I think it would have been epic to get SS2 released here on the eve of first game hitting magical 5 figures on wanted list. :P
Overlaps, like, two were at the same time? [like EA, TheCheese33's suggestion]
Or more like, what once was, is now? [or sth with 2K? like Irrational, who were, and now are again?]

Cook: We've double posted the clue with Tom, sorry ;)

Thank GOG it was a mistake!:D

Hmmm... now I never agreed to hardcore sock munching action. If the others are going to insist you much down on a sock burger I cant really help that. But if you are right it's Acti/Blizz (which is looking doubtful *cough* Red Alert) then at least you get a free copy of Bloodlines to play while eating.
Troika's games are Activision properties now, aren't they? With the time travel hint, I am really beginning to think it is a multi-publisher deal!
Maybe a redux?? A classic redone and premiering on GOG?

Hey Vestin! I beat Ya to it!:P

Definately isn't Blizzard. They have thier own digital downloads site. Diablo II, Warcraft III, and Starcraft can be freely downloaded if you already own the games. (Just put your key codes in.) You don't need the discs to install them anymore. Same with World of Warcraft. (You don't even need the codes with that, just your log in.) Actually you don't even need to install wow, just copy the game file. Also I don't think Blizzard would let someone distribute those at $10 when they still sell at $20 each.
Anyway.
I'm guessing EA with Ultima. I'm hoping for EA because they hold the rights to Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. I'd buy that game again just for convenience and not needing the cd for the expansion. (The original didn't need the CD until the expansion came out.)
Dungeon Keeper would also be awesome. Actually there's a huge list of EA games that I'd buy again just for the sake of no DRM.

But can you be sure that the mistake was unintentional? :)

Freedom Force vs. The Third Reich... mystery solved, it's EA.

Yup. now if only the next hint hints at yet another publisher..
Which probably means it won't, even if we are right.

smart move after that ea-favoring time travel hint
I kept praying for Pod over the last months. Hope it's the one. It is after all one of the first (if not the first) game to use 3D graphic cards, which are still in use nowadays, and of course, one of the best racing game of all time.

Damn you!
I instantly thought Civilization: Call to Power.
