malrau: Yes, I think a Diablo affaire would have justified this kind of announcement more than a SS one, since Diablo and Starcraft are much more known among gamers in the world.

Delixe: Thats subjective. Personally I couldn't give a crap about Diablo or Starcraft.

It is. But I'm not saying I would prefer Diablo over System Shock. I think diablo is more popular and that this popularity would justify the kind of announcement.
It might very well be the System Shock announcement and I would be very happy about that, but I don't think it's the case.
I might be wrong of course :)
I just want Sierra's city building series.
I'm only extremely confident that its not Acti/Blizz for two reasons which I think are good.
1) Blizzards games like Starcraft and Diablo are available on their own online store. They are also extrememly expensive on that store. I can see no reason for them to release their games here for less money.
2) Bobby Kotick is a prize winning prick. He by his own admission is not a gamer and doesn't even like games, they are products to him. He would see no point in releasing classic PC games because the price would be low and as there would be no DRM he would assume we would rather pirate the games than buy them.
ok, I'm stopping reading this topic too, I need to go back to studying... I just accidentally found this thing, thought you might like it :)

btw, I was a bit sarcastic, hell would freeze over before Blizzard will release its games on GoG for 10 dollars :) They are still selling for waaay more in stores, they have no reason to go budget (maybe we have hope for Diablo 1, but that's about it)

I just read through the posts and someone typed outt he twitter clue
if there are more clues with anything related to Karma - i agree that its going to be the Ultima games
that series is the most famous one i know that has anything to do with Karma and would probably warant the Hype
Also, (this is a long shot) threre is a documentary on video games that specificaly mentions Ultima series and Karma. If they recently saw it - it could have been the inspiration for the clue. I say this becasue i happend to just recently watch this Documentary on netflix and reading the clue instantly made me think of the video.
These three publishers maybe ?
Atari
Sierra
LucasArt

Menelkir: This countdown can only be the announcement of Mastertronics and Avalon Hill joining GOG!
Maybe GOG can release Telengard as an Mp3 file so we old farts can dump it to a cassette and load it up on the Commie.
LOAD "*",8,1 is the only way to go!
Oooohhh, maybe even Llamasoft?, who is Jeff Minter working for these days?

Ahh yes the device id of 8,1 can only mean a commodore 1541 drive. :)
