LordCinnamon: The three publisher's thing actually crossed my mind, but hoping for that seems a bit risky.. that'd be too awesome.
Think about it. We already have some huge groups here that are close to the hearts and minds of retro gamers. Interplay, Ubisoft, Apogee, and Cyan, to name a few. What would trump each announcement of these companies? SEVERAL COMPANIES AT ONCE!

I would also like to add that my theory also corresponds with some of the replies the staff have given. They've told us that several of us are very close, and some of us may have even hit the mark. What if some of the guesses we've given, like Atari, EA, Activision... what if some of these guesses are but one part in a giant play? MY BRAIN IS ABOUT TO IMPLODE!

I don't see any hidden clues in the phrase "Expect the Unexcelled!"
My guess is they will publish both SYSTEM SHOCK games.
I say this because when it comes to PC - and GOG.com is PC only - the two SYSTEM SHOCK games are, what we call, gaming NIRVANA.
If we look at all other games that people want, they all, to some extent, have been published either to retail stores or to digital distribution. Heck, even PLANESCAPE TORMENT has been released recently in DVD. Obviously, whether they work in XP-VISTA-WIN7 is an entirely different matter.
But the System Shocks are the two games that everyone has been dying to get their hands but that have been perpetualy in legal limbo.
If GOG actually pulled to get these two and give it the GOG treatment, hell, they've just blown my mind.
On a sidenote, I do have an original copy of SYSTEM SHOCK 2 (second-hand) I purchased for €5 on computer store that used to have games for rent. And with the new NVIDIA drivers it actually WORKS! But a GOG treatment would be better.
This is, of course, my opinion.

Gexecuter: after thinking it some more i refuse to believe the gog team would give away the answer so fast, the TROIKA hint seems too obvious.
Delixe: Tell you what how about a wager and forget the socks? If it's EA (and i'm not entirely convinced it is, just the evidence points to it for me) then you buy me the first released game on GOG from them. If however it's Troika then I buy you the first game released from them.
it can't be troika can it? they're a developer, GOG has to get rights from a publisher. my guess is that it is a publisher that has the rights to one of the troika games.
but i wouldn't mind a wager! in fact, fuck it, i'll just go with my hearts desire: acti/blizz you buy me a game, ea i buy you a game. i will also sock in mouth on camera if i'm wrong.

Menelkir: Maybe GOG can release Telengard as an Mp3 file so we old farts can dump it to a cassette and load it up on the Commie.
Gah! Please, no! Just a .TAP file will be fine, thanks, and I can play it in WinVICE.
HAH! Begone, foul impersonator! Any true Commie fan knows that tapes just load with:
LOAD "*"
and that the command YOU gave is for disk drives!
EDIT: Bleah. It's even been too long for me since tape drives -- you don't need the "*", just LOAD.

Sir I admire that and your wager is taken. I personally think Satan will be skating to work the day Acti/Blizz appear on GOG.

Not sufficent for me. ;P
I'll stick with a few publishers and something else, yet unrevealed.;>
Menelkir: This countdown can only be the announcement of Mastertronics and Avalon Hill joining GOG!
Maybe GOG can release Telengard as an Mp3 file so we old farts can dump it to a cassette and load it up on the Commie.
LOAD "*",8,1 is the only way to go!
Oooohhh, maybe even Llamasoft?, who is Jeff Minter working for these days?

Yeah, and GOG unburied the dreadful Atari 2600 E.T. from the New Mexico desert and will release it on Thursday. ;P
