xxxIndyxxx: I must say.... i think you are right...or ... are they messing with us...who knows...good find though.

Protoss: Troika alone would not make the biggest announcement since the launch of GOG.

I agree. It would be a good one, but not the unexcelled (i.e. the best) in my opinion.

Delixe: So we have gone from it's EA and Ultima to Fable and Microsoft then Troika because of a co-incedence

there is no way that was a coincidence
Re: the Troika thing.
Arcanum was published by Sierra, now Act/Blizz.
TOEE by Atari (who still hold the rights to D&D games).
Vampire Bloodlines by Activision, now Act/Blizz.
So - if this is just one publisher it'd mean that not all of Troika's games are in reach. I.e. atm I'd rather think it is coincidence.

cogadh: Its also a Russian word for a carriage drawn by three horses side-by-side.
Make of that what you want...
There's also suit troika and dance troika and it's a grade in 5-point grading scale, which is used in Russia. And a lot of other meanings.
But how is that related to video games? It's obviously Troika Games.
Gah where's the new hint Mikee more or less promised?!

MY GOD YOU GUYS of course it's not going to be the whole thing! that's why this is only a CLUE. they are hinting that troika is one of the developers that is being brought in with the new publisher. it's narrowing it down without giving it away!
and for the last time that was NOT a coincidence! it is definitely awkwardly phrased because they were coming up with something that would spell out troika, and you guys think that of all the words that could have coincidentally spelled, it would have spelled a developer that fits perfectly into GOG's target catalogue?!
ok, so i am telling you right now exactly what we know. based on what mnemon just wrote, it is either acti/blizz or atari. DEAL
also, since i am already in the business of sock-eating, i will do so if i am wrong.

If there is a scale from one to five, how surprising is it that "three" is an option ?
I heard a rumor that they're merging with Steam to form Good Old Steamy Games. It could just be a RUMOR, though.

Hmm, yeah :D
It's just that word "troika" isn't exact translation of "three" and used a bit differently. But, anyway, yeah, you're right.

Selling the likes of Lula: The Sexy Empire and similarly-themed games?

And i say it was. Are you telling me GOG simply put together a random phrase to spell out Troika? A random phrase that just so happens to be a huge clue to Ultima?
Karmic System. Troika didn't use one, its an obscure reference if thats the case. Ultima however DID use a Karmic system.
Take it easy guys, both might mean something. Troika, and the sentence.
Now, if it wasn't the "most obvious", it could've meant Troika [Activision Boredom] and Ultima [Electronic Farts], for example.;)
Maybe it's a clue for both Troika and Ultima ?
That's really desperate, you know that? :D
Fallout had a karmic system too, as well as many other games I'm sure. A clue like that is so unspecific, that I don't believe it points to Ultima.
I am all for Activision catalogue, cant wait to see it online :) All clues come together nice to it
Something of interest a friend of mine pointed out earlier when we were discussing the hint: “troika” literally means a collection of three/three of a kind, and there were three Zork trilogies. Also, Infocom has been completely unexcelled in the interactive fiction genre. Just his 2¢; personally, I think he just really wants Zork ;)
