EndlessWaves: This is whatsupwiththat's list from a page or two after the announcement, I've not checked it for accuracy.

Arteveld: Thanks for the effort, but i was thinking about something more complex, as in a number specifying how many times each guess was made, like EA [10 milion] and above that, the recent guesses that Mikee mentioned being 'hot'. ;) Nevertheless thanks!:)
Karmic awareness? Ultima all the way. ;P

What's the link between Karmic awareness and Ultima?
EDIT: this reminds me of a part in one of Asimov's Foundation novels, where the statements of some ambassador were semantically analyzed and the sum of his statements was zero, even though he seemed to say a great deal.

"The return of incredible karmic awareness."
The force?
Return of the jedi? (re written)
Monkey Island 2: LeChucks revenge? (LeChuck is all karmic and stuff..maybe..not)
Maybe I'm just seeing things..or maybe I just want it to be LucasArts really bad...
My memory is sketchy but wasnt Karma a trait in Ultima?
It's Ultima and EA! *dances*
First thing I thought of was Fable, which heavily uses a Karma system.

MrDOS:
Start guessing, we're giving you the first hint: The return of incredible karmic awareness.

--- MrDOS

It's simple!
It's Sneak King ported to the PC!

Shadowrun did as well. Well it did in the RPG and Console games. They said the return of Karmic Awareness, Fable is still a current title so it could hardly be returning.
EA or at least Origin games are on the way! *dances more*

Yes.
My thoughts exactly.
Maybe it's not only Ultima, but all Origin games from EA? The countdown background goes very well with Origin's motto - "we create worlds". It also resembles the background on Origin's logo a bit...
I hope it is that - Ultima, Wing Commander, Crusader, Bioforge... so many great old games.
The hint is, I think, quite easy to decipher.

I have but one thing to say to GOG:
THANK YOU!

I'm in the EA camp. My guess is that the first game offered will be (thanks wikipedia):
The Ultima Collection is a CD-ROM collection of the first eight Ultima computer games (MS-DOS versions only), including their respective expansion packs. It was released in February 17, 1998 for Windows 95/98 and DOS. The disk will not work as such on Windows 2000 or newer; a DOS Emulator such as DOSBox and some manual work is required to get all the games working on modern versions of Windows. The included version of Ultima II is incomplete; see its own article for details.
Along with Ultima's I-VIII this collection also included:
The PC port of Akalabeth.
A sneak preview of Ultima IX with an interview with Richard Garriott.
A complete atlas of the maps used in each game.
The original documentation converted into Windows help file format.

Sounds like the perfect starter for EA on GOG to me, though I've never played any of the series I know they're regarded as classics.

That's a lot of wishful thinking there ;) I wouldn't really rate Fable as a ' current' title.
In my mind both Microsoft and EA still seem possible, really. Microsoft's catalog might be less awe inspiring, but in a way the deal would mean more for GOG, I think.
Or not. Whatever :D

That is an interesting find. Coincidence, though? Maybe?

Oh boy. That would be pretty awesome too, really :) But indeed, they also might be messing with us. Or it could even be..
COINCIDENCE!
Still, interesting find. I'm just worried that it might be too obvious o_o
