Arteveld: The EA catalogue would be AWESOME, Ultimas are truly unexcelled [my dictionaries claim that such a word exists indeed], though, I wouldn't be so happy about Dungeon Keeper.

I think this is the answer. Ultima = Latin for "Utmost, final, greatest." Something that is Ultimate, by definition, cannot be excelled (and is thus, uh, "unexcelled" despite the poor grammar). I think it just might be the Ultima series! That would make me one VERY happy happy man (and about 8 x $5.99 poorer, yikes).
BTW... my avatar (pun intended) attests to this fact.

It's highly unlikely even EA would expect $5.99 each for the earlier Ultima games, they will likely be in a pack like Might & Magic.

bitobah: Absolutely - I still have the disk based Ultima Collection and it loads and plays fine. A collection like that for $9.99 I think.

Delixe: Sorry - This quote system really needs some work - Or maybe I do.

captfitz: also, maybe they meant a publisher from one of their top three wishlisted games?

You're onto something there, captfitz. I think you've hit the nail right on the head. The top 3 publishers I can see regarding wishlisted games are: EA, LucasArts, and Atari (I'm including Icewind Dale, et al. in there).

What, not going to buy U9? Despite its flaws it was really good. Besides, I have a feeling that noone would buy Ultima 1 for $6, more than likely they'd sell the 1-6 collection, 7 + Serpent Isle, 8 & 9 as seperate packages, basically my philosophy is that if it came on floppies it should be in a compilation, if it came on a CD it should be seperate.
The 2 Worlds Of Ultima games (Martian Dreams & Savage Empire) would also be a brilliant 2 pack

Egotomb: Hmm the reply system seems broken right now.
@sorted God only knows where that fit of rage came from.

rage? Ego lighten up a wee bit lad. Life is quite short in the grande scheme of things... own your uptightness (I know it's 'British...but c'mon!) and set it free... oh and God has nothing to do with this... this is not sacred whatsoever ;-)

I would buy these in a heart beat. Loved them.

I think the Ultima Collection (if EA were to do that) is a great idea simply because you get far more value for, say, $5.99 or $9.99 for those games.
Here is my top 5 publisher wishlist (please please please):
5) EA (specifically for things like Theme Hospital, et al.)
4) Team 17 (WORMS!!!!!!!!!)
3) Activision/Blizzard (Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo, etc.)
2) Sierra (specifically if we can get Tribes and other Sierra properties, such as YDKJ, the old Papyrus NASCAR Racing games & Grand Prix Legends)
1) LUCASARTS!!!!! (Specifically, I want to play Outlaws, Yoda Stories, and Indiana Jones & The Fate of Atlantis. Yeah, I know I can get that last 1 on Steam, but I want to play that game in SCUMMVM, not some baloney b.s. proprietary Windows emulated b.s.)

I think he meant [edit] (wished to omit buying) [/edit] the horrid Ultima 8: Pagan.;P
Don't forget the awesome and technically groundbreaking Underworlds!
But where there's Ultima 8.. there are the Crusaders! ;> That would be cool, despite I already have No Remorse. The only thing i lack is the box.:(
On the other hand, a deal as suck would suck for those who are almost broke and unemployed. Food or Ultima... A good time to deeply contemplate the idea of starvation in RPGs.;P [editing sucks!]

it will be a gog exclusive - Duke Nukem Forever!!!
Maybe EgoSoft's X series are coming to GOG...
Amiga compilations for 10 dollars.
Maybe they'll start supporting Macs (OS X)? Also, just check out the familiar font. That would be very cool since I won't have to switch to Windows constantly on my MacBook Pro to play my games.

At first I just dismissed your suggestion but I went back and looked at the countdown font and the background picture. I still don't think it is very likely but I can see it is a slight possibility and would welcome it.
Sorry, but adding Mac support just doesn't strike me as a "countdown worthy" event, especially since the vast majority of GOG users simply don't care; we don't use Macs and never really wanted/needed/asked for Mac support. Mac support is more like the kind of thing you would see added in small increments over a long period of time, as they either acquire games with Mac support or do whatever porting magic they have to do to each title to make them Mac compatible.
