Weclock: square enix is only on that list because of eidos, if they hadn't bought eidos they'd never ever be on the top pc games of all time list

Well yeah but buying Eidos gave Square Enix considerable clout in the PC market. Which is why I assume they did it.

tebunker: Unexcelled is the same as saying Unsurpassed, except that Un-excelled is not actually a word. So we should be expecting something that has yet to be surpassed. Top of it's game, best thing ever kind of game.

And if we go by the Wish List that's System Shock 2 & EA.
I really hope it's EA. Lucasarts is all well and good, but I've already bought all of the games I want from them on Steam.
The only thing that comes to my mind when I think of unsurpassed in terms of "old games" is the Baldur's Gate series.
If it really means one of the big 3, then it's gonna be Valve, Stardock, or Paradox.

I see what you did there.

Speaking of which, I remember reading a totally unfounded rumor about Zenimax (parent of Bethesda) looking into Valve. One of the reasons to trust Steam is that Valve is privately-held, and until Gabe Newell runs out of money for delivery pizza, I doubt that we will see that company acquired by anyone else.
'Expect the unexcelled':
Heroes of Might and Magic.
Oh wait...
Hmm the reply system seems broken right now.
@sorted God only knows where that fit of rage came from.

It is always broken. You just learn to work around it.

Thx for the heads up.
The EA catalogue would be AWESOME, Ultimas are truly unexcelled [my dictionaries claim that such a word exists indeed], though, I wouldn't be so happy about Dungeon Keeper. The DOS version had terrible bugs and AI. The windows versions [keeper95 and keepd3d] were much better, but there's no good win95/98 emulation [WInBOX come!], and i've tried playing them on virtual machines, one thing i can say, forget DK on VMs.;>
I think GOG would make much fuss about introducing a game from the top of the wishlist, my guess would go for Planescape Torment, though it's AD&D.

Ha, Ha. I've said the following at the Steam forums (to scorching hatred).
Everyone has a price. Especially creative types or people who start businesses who are always looking for a new challenge. Now I don't think for one minute that Valve is for sale. But the way the video game industry has been consolidating, it wouldn't surprise me one bit.

soulgrindr: does anyone actually use "unexcelled"? unsurpassed maybe...
it's clearly interstate '76

I've never used or even seen the word "unexcelled" in my life.
And I've read a book.
