maybe they can give us some hint as to the games that are still coming or how many or how frequent. Just keeping the thread going :P
(EDIT:and to the disappointed ones: don't be this IS HUGE if you look at the larger picture)

As one who loathe what Activision has become, I have mixed feelings about this.
I am sure they had a lot of good games back in the day which I might want to buy. But this means I will be giving them money. I don't want that. At all.
A very disappointing end of the countdown for me :(
A possible NOLF 2 release is rumored here.

Well I'm very happy with the anouncement of arcanum :D
i thought there would be a few more games at the break of the countdown mind, but knowing its gonna be a good month is not too bad.
Gratz to everyone who got wat they wanted, comiserations to those who didn't
I WANT ANOTHER COUNTDOWN! GIVE US MORE COUNTDOWNS!
This is fantabulous news!
Activision means Sierra, and that means plenty of quality games!
Two great games to begin with, with others surely arriving over the next few weeks/months.
This may cost me quite a lot of money!
Hey folks! So yes, lots of you guessed correctly... not sure how our rather obvious hints (especially the Ohio one) really did any less to ruin the countdown than the CNET exclusive... but hey, I do apologize if anyone took offense to seeing the news there early. As I noted in another thread, we don't get a lot of opportunities to work with big news announcements, and whether you're a fan of Activision/Sierra/etc. or not, it's obviously a rather big deal in the grand scheme if we can get front-page coverage on CNET on the same day as the iPad announcement :) So again, sorry if it offended you, but hopefully we can make it up to you with some great games!
Check out this article at Neoseeker, too -- http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Games/Features/activision_joins_gog/ -- should give you some insight into why this is a big deal, as well as the process of signing someone like this.

I'm not offended as much as I am UNBELIEVABLY LIVID. I demand a GOG game in compensation!
Worth a try.
yeah i agree that activision is the devil (taking out dedicated servers, flat out LYING to german customers, and some more reasons)
but YAY gabriel knight :D

Thanks , I love GOG and have bought about 10 games already, but tbh the timer was a little lame .......
well i like it. I've been wanting gabriel knight for a long time so i will buy it monday. Arcanum seems interesting but it feels like i've only got rpg's installed at the moment so it goes on the wishlist. I can't wait too see the other announcements
From a business standpoint this is surely great news for GOG as a company...but perhaps a little underwhelming to us regular customers. Arcanum and GK1 is a solid enough start, but perhaps the real countdown (i.e. to a much larger collection of Activision titles to be added sequentially over time) has only just begun...
It's the full talkie version of Gabriel Knight!
I know a few adventures that I would buy again if it is full talkie. *hints*
Oh, and there are four more games to be announced soon.

Don't forget NOLF 1! The publisher is owned by Activision now.

Whatever. Do what's necessary to keep yourselves in this business.
Congrats!
