This shit with CNET made me so mad.... Dammit... that really sucks... exclusive or not that was crap...
in other news Starkrun buys 2 more games! ^_^

TrIp13G: I'm not gonna lie, that sounds pretty bad.

I'm not gonna lie either - you really have to check if it's going to work if you're buying them specifically for PSP. But to give Sony some credit, I don't know of any service other than that new arcade service MS is rolling out where your digital games are cross-platform. That's a sweet step in the right direction, even though in the case of the PSP it's half broken.

Navagon: On the front page GOG has begun counting down to next Thursday with the message "Expect the Unexcelled". Obviously this is one of GOG's major first quarter announcements. But what is it?
Official Hints:
1. The return of incredible karmic awareness.
2. Where history overlaps with the present time.
3. They are two different characters, but they complement each other beautifully.
4. A messenger is not named for a soldier, but precedes one.
5. Ohio's secret place.
Let the random speculation commence!

Black & White by Electronic Arts ?
I don't like that game much btw.

Here's the blog author's reply: "Uh, it's called an "exclusive" because they offered us the first crack at the news, before the official announcement. (Otherwise we'd have called it a "leak" or something)."
Intentional 'leak' from GOG itself? 'First crack'? 'Part of the plan'? Hmmm, sounds fishy indeed... >_>

Glad a few more people agree... No matter what, a lot of people's wallets/pocketbooks will be screaming in pain in a few short hours. ;-)
Something tells me (though it may be I'm staying up way too late) that it isn't just going to be 1 publisher, or even 2. Something is telling me (perhaps logic) that GOG just snagged 3 publishers. My guess is Activision-Blizzard (since they're already known to be on-board), EA (another one that makes sense), and LucasArts (who have only dabbled in the DD space before now).

Lemme guess! If this is only ATVI we're taking about:
1. Trokia seems as a good as a guess as any - sadly, Arcanum was published by Sierra.
2. Civ: Call to Power I and II?
3. Sam and Max - Hit the Road.
4. Call of Duty - the messenger that precedes a soldier.
5. ???
So then, with activision on board anyone think it would it be possible to get Mechwarrior 2 any time soon?

True. I'm actually really looking forward to Game Room, now that you mention it.
Bloody hell Cnet sucks hate those guys now for spoiling a good supprise although the 2 games mentioned 1 i have but would love it without using the cd's .
Hopefully there is more to the countdown but if not still happy with the results.
Well, the cat has been let out on the GK Campaign board.
Of course I'm estatic, but kind of sad, that it's out before the countdown is over :(

Activision published Battlezone and Heavy Gear, two games that I've wanted to get for ages, AND has the Infocom rights? Awesome!
Also, speaking of Infocom, to whoever said they had the original CP/M disks for some of their games. I don't know if its possible, but if you can get the data onto a Windows readable disk, you should be able to play them. (Please forgive me if you already knew this)
Infocom wrote their games for a 'z-machine' and then supplied a z-machine interpreter for a specific platform. So if you can get the files onto a modern computer, you should just be able to download a modern interpreter, such as Frotz2002 or WinFrotz.

Battlezone and Heavy Gear are fantastic games love to see them here. I think Activision does have a large back catalogue with many good games so this deal is a godsend for us to get hold on some pure classics.
Given the official hints, I was actually thinking along the lines of whatsitcalled...
*looks it up*
Call of Juarez, the first one.
Although, I don't think it has anything to do with present time (obviously, being a wild west shooter - but are there any flashbacks? Err.. Flashforwards?), and I have no idea about the Ohio thing.
The other would be Assassin's Creed? Maybe?
They all seem to focus on karmic experiences, or redemption.
AC has more to do with the past and present overlapping.
Call of Juarez features two brothers who are very different, but compliment eachother. AC had that AI, or some such.
Call of Juarez has a messenger, of sorts? Wasn't one of the brothers a priest, and the other an outlaw? No idea about Assassin's Creed - never played it, don't know much about it.
And Ohio's secret place, well, I have no idea.
Just a thought. I know they're relatively new games, but it's a wild stab.
Has anyone mentioned Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption? I would orgasm on the spot if that was released on GOG.

I agree. Erm. I've completed a feature/interview about it myself which will go live the second the announcement hits though..I hope you guys like it and will find it helps alleviate the crappiness of the evil cnet article. ;)
Will post a link on the new thread~
