Runehamster: Despite Gamespot's review (LINK: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/arcanumofsteamworksamo/index.html?tag=gallery_summary;title) uh...dang that's a long link.
Errr...anyway, despite their review, I might just pick Arcanum up. Has a beautiful art design. Can't say I'll play it too much, but I literally got Disciples because it is a stunningly gorgeous game.

There ya go.
Well that was unnecessary.
Thanks anyway, Doc! :D
And yeah...that's one of my personal pet peeves. For instance: Squeenix could spend a couple of months reformatting FF7/FF8 to run on modern PC's, release 'em at $20-30 bucks, and any PC gamer with half a brain would pick up both of 'em. But will they do that? No...of course not. They'll sit on the copyrights and refuse to re-release them. It doesn't even make SENSE.
Heck...they could just reprint the old PS1 discs and people would eat 'em up.

PhoenixWright: It's true. I bought both of them the instants that they were available on the PSN. I think I prefer that purchase to a PC purchase actually, because I can play them on both the PS3 and PSP.
I know this is off-topic, but I've been wondering how the shoulder buttons work on the PSP with PS1 games. Do you have to map two of them to the thumbstick, or something?

This is all good and there are many Activision games I want (Mostly DOOM and MechWarrior.) but strategy gamers need love too. The only strategy game I like is Civilization: Call to Power when I look at Activision games on wikipedia.
If this means that old Blizzard games also get published I'd love to play Warcraft 1\2 again. :)
As you can see I'm a bit confused. Exactly which developers\publishers does this deal bring to GOG?

I had forgotten Activision made Mechwarrior! Omigosh! I shall check GOG religiously, every day!
I still have my disc for Mechwarrior 2...haven't been able to run it in years and years :(

Runehamster: Poor guy. Another victim of Zombie attacks.
And that, folks, is why you should always carry your zombie repellent.
Arteveld: Since i have this rare opportunity to see the world from the perspective of a no-brainer i have to say, it's great on this side. Thank You Zombies! ;D And that, folks, is why you should always carry your zombie repellent.
Now I have half a mind to try it!

Well, since nobody complained yet... I'm sad.
The only games I'll be interested are the Leisure Suit Larry ones, if they are part of the deal... Finished Gabriel Knight already, no reason to play it again and didnt like arcanum very much when it was released... maybe will now, I dont know...
I'd have been much happier if EA signed the deal... The Origin catalog would be very welcome, as they made the Wing Commander/Privateer series and, of course, Ultima. These games could use a GOG makeover (privateer doesnt even work in DOSBOX)!
Am very happy to see the site expanding tho.
On a related note, wikipedia lists Ultima II and another one (spinoff, I guess) as Sierra property. Can anyone confirm this? Also, what about the first Half-life (which obviously belongs to Valve, but was published - and co-developed, maybe - by Sierra)?

I'm a little disappointed that it doesn't look like it'll be EA (at least not immediately) but Activision has some good games that I'll certainly buy. The Sierra catalog is great (I'll second the call for Phantasmagoria). Plus I'm old enough to have original C/PM disks for a lot of the Infocom games and would loooove to see the text adventure compilation updated to run on my current computer (along with the invisiclues like they included in the Lost Treasures sets).
