9. Konami
10. Sega
11. Capcom
12. MTV Games
13. Namco Bandai
14. Warner Brothers
15. Disney
16. Atari
17. Lucasarts

Delixe: Like Atari they are no-where near the top 3. They have big titles but no-where near the amount of volume that the others have.

wikipedia begs to differ :P theres a chart of the 2009 positions of publishers...take-two was 5th, if you scrap nintendo (whos 1st) that makes them 4th :P so quite close if you think about it.

captfitz: why does this have to happen the day after Mass Effect 2 unlocks?!

So what, Good Old Games ain't Shitty New Cutscenes anyway. But yeah, the background kinda looks like some high science fiction stuff. If Bioware chooses the opportunity that they offer their old games just for promoting ME2, that's well... okay.

Edited my post ;)

:P but i do have to agree about whether the information is accurate but it's better than no information.

I wasn't suggesting a link, I was bemoaning the fact that I will have to balance my ME2 playtime with whatever awesomeness GOG is throwing my way. STEP OFF SON!

Yeah it gives us an idea of where each company stands. The smart money is still on EA as they have far more old IP's than Take-Two do and EA signing up would warrant a song and dance announcement.

Agreed, would love to be able to play Desert Strike again :P

Luned: I'm using IE8

Navagon: There's your problem right there. IE doesn't support very much very well. Subsequently not very much supports IE.

Um, IE is the most popular browser and damn near everything is designed around it. There are rare webpages built by fanboys like yourself who design around firefox and the like, but it's, as said, rare.
My vote is either for it being a publisher deal rather than a single game, due to the fact that I've never seen a countdown before. I think only System Shock 2, as it's the #1 requested game, could justify the hype. (As for which publisher? I'd bet on either EA or Activision Blizzard.)
What is the general consensus at this point? Game or publisher?

Design around good layout; code around a standards-compliant browser like Firefox or Opera; get IE under control through the use of IE-specific stylesheets.

I'm for publisher. I've been aroundish since the Slashdot post, and I haven't seen anything like this before.

Probably both then. If what you just said happens (release of System Shock) then it will be an opening for EA catalog. Or at least part of it.

Consensus not found. Looks like there's a roughly equal distribution of people listing possible publishers and people listing favorite games, with a small minority wisecracking.
I'm betting on Metal Gear Solid. I want number 1 and 2 for PC!
In time, the GOG team will tease us with tantalizing tidbits to torment us.
