captfitz: be nice people!
it will be a maximum of one sock. but i don't think i can possibly avoid it now. especially since my final guess now includes one of the previous conditions in which i would have to eat a sock.
Navagon: Is there such a thing as edible footwear? Only now would be the time to find out. :D it will be a maximum of one sock. but i don't think i can possibly avoid it now. especially since my final guess now includes one of the previous conditions in which i would have to eat a sock.
Sure there is.

Delixe: I still can't see Activision signing on. It just goes against everything that Kotick has worked towards for the past 10 years. If Activision has signed on then Bobby probably doesn't know about it yet.
I don't know who this Kotick is (I assume he's the AB CEO) but if he's as money hungry as you paint him, I don't see why he wouldn't join. Sierra's old game catalog is pretty much collecting dust and out come these guys saying there's a market for those old games and they can make them run on modern systems and generate revenue again, without much effort from Activision's part except striking a licensing deal.
Sounds like good business to me.

Well, based on the hints I think multiple games are definitely going to be announced and I think one may just be Ultima Collection (I hope) which will probably mean EA is coming on board to gog as unlikely as I thought that would be. If that's the case then I think Black & White could be one as well. As for the other games, i'm stumped, but I do think there will be a game for each hint. I hope a Wizardry collection is one of them, but I don't see that happening atm. So.......... My final answer is: Ultima Collection, Black & White, ????, ????, ????
Sorry if i'm typing crappy, i'm a bit tired. lol.

You can read about him on Wikipedia, among other places.
A quote from the same page:
During a speech at the 2009 Deutsche Bank Securities Technology Conference, Kotick received significant criticism for stating, "We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games." Kotick later stated he tries to promote an atmosphere of "skepticism, pessimism, and fear" in his company and, "We are very good at keeping people focused on the deep depression."

Wasn't that speech to a very specific audience? I don't quite see the correlation between that and the inability for them to join up with GOG.
Seems more that he was painting the image of himself as a harsh boss, one that would be very efficient and increase profit margins by any means necessary (as he is expected to do...).

PixyMisa: I've worked it out! The whole thing is an acrostic. If you take the letters designated by the decimal expansion of e from the words designated by the decimal expansion of pi from all the recent GOG announcements, it spells out, hmm, let's see... Tass Times in Tonetown. Is that a real game?
Can you please say how you do that expansion?

I'll throw my vote in for activision/blizzard the evidence stacks up pretty well for them. As much as I'd like to believe the EA joining them 2 big publisher theory, the pesimist in me just doesn't see that happening. Saying that I'm still suprised activision/blizzard would join gog if it does indeed turn out to be true.

EA catalogue > ActiBliz catalogue
However, my final guess is ActiBliz (particularly Sierra catalogue) coming to GOG.
