bazilisek: Maybe it's just me, but when I go to the Community page now, under "Games you'd love to see on GOG" I have Arcanum and Gabriel Knight 3. Coincidence? I don't think so.
Mystery solved, I guess.

It's neither a coincidence nor is it indicative of anything. People saw the games mentioned here, either remembered them or checked them out and then voted for them.

Ah, it's gone now. I suppose you're right, then. What's the algorithm for this list, anyway? Recently voted for?
EDIT: Apparently, it is so. Never mind, then.

I'm pretty sure it's not about just one game, otherwise it wouldn't be the "greatest GOG.com announcement ever", as said by a member of the staff.
I think it's either a big publisher (like EA, Sierra, etc.) or a client/program that integrates itself with your GOG account.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
HOLD UP
If people are getting sock prizes I had BETTER get one.
I call a thousand previous forum posts like these as witnesses:

cogadh: capfitz will be so happy to hear that.

Delixe: YES!!! Send some GOG branded socks for CapFitz to eat when its not Acti/Bliz!
GoG is predicting when their servers are going to crash from a bunch old-game freaks like us hitting refresh on our browsers.
just my two cents!

Mikee: What will happen in 15 hours?
Nothing!
We were just fooling you guys!
Have a nice day!

This would be cruel.

The users who are getting awards all have different things to say. Cogadh says he was all over the place, someone said that two of them thought it was EA, and the only post antifood made that was actually a straight guess (took me forever to find it) was 'It is activision.'
So that settles it: gog is getting every game ever.
Ok, but my actual guess, as I said before, is Sierra
I know some guys "in the know", and can reveal that it's a deal with Steam, StarForce and SecuROM, done in order to keep Ubisoft from abandoning GOG. Now all games will have StarForce disk checks (yes, they'll be on discs from now on), Steam in the background and SecuROM activations online (make that "activation", there's only one). :-(

I couldn't stop myself;-) If you use strict logic, then the answer is already given;-)

ok, there's definitely something lost in grammatic translation here, but is Mikee saying EA and Activision?!?! because strictly speaking the users have guessed both EA and Activision?
or is he saying that 'IF sierra THEN acti/blizz' is strict logic?
EDIT AGAIN: or is he saying that my Sierra guess is strict logic?!

You forgot to mention that we'll also need to be online to play the games, through the new "GOGonline.com" service. And pay a monthly charge to keep playing them, along with a monthly charge if you want to use savegames.

captfitz: or is he saying that if sierra then acti/blizz, strictly logically?!

And when i had to be more than one publisher i was looked upon as if i was crazy.;)
Welcome to the Asylum then!;)

But all this will "enrich" our gameplay experience, so it's all good really.

Well, I was all over the place with my posts, but the only clear guesses I have made were EA (way back at the beginning of the thread) and, of course, Sierra/Activision.

And that's why I used some simple logic to deduce that it's both of them - EA and Activision. ;-)
