Foxhack: DAIKATANA COMING TO GOG.COM!
avatar
sorted: I'm totally on that! yes!

Without trying to sound rude you would be in the minority in this therefore it's unlikely.
it's going to be a new publisher but be be realistic, it's not EA or Lucasarts. I will eat my sock if it is either. GOG often does tease with mysterious twitter announcements and such. This is obviously a little bigger but... I don't think we should all be trampling the joy of it with ridiculous expectations.

Thegreatbobo: Baldur's Gate I and II, Planescape: Torment, Icewind Dale - All available on Thursday.
At least, that's what I have my fingers crossed for.
But even if it's not, whatever it is, I'm sure it's going to be F*cking amazing.

I have all of those but I'd still re-buy them on GOG just to avoid having to find and then insert the freaking CDs (in this day and age!) just to run them.

komoto: You can already download gta 1 & 2 legally & DRM-free from Rockstar.

Nice, thanks for the heads up! I've never played 1 or 2.
[edit] I made these as two separate posts, how the heck did they get combined into one? Oh well.

You may have to eat that sock so make sure its well washed beforehand ;)
They did say a top 3 publisher and there are only a few candidates.
Activision - Not a chance
Microsoft - Unlikely
Ubisoft - Already here
Sega - Top 3 maybe 10 years ago and only on consoles.
Eidos - Possible. SquareEnix certainly seem interested in the PC.
THQ - Top three would be pushing it.
So that leaves... EA.

OH SHI-
I missed that! When did they say that?
Also... this may be a little late but GOG uses the space thing for a lot of their graphics, I wouldn't analyze that too much.

Earlier in the thread someone linked to an interview where it was mentioned.
Hoping:
Lost vikings, Blackthorne, Warcraft I&II
System Shock I&II *
Deus Ex *
Planescape Torment *
I feel that these are going to happen...

That would require 4 publishers. Activision, EA, Eidos and Atari. They may appear eventually but certainly no time soon.

Yeah you are right...
This can be more logic :P
Icewind Dale I & II
Planescape Torment
Baldurs Gate I & II
Though I can not remember if interplay published them all.
My guess would be the Master of Orion series - not many 5X-games around :)

Atari now own the D&D rights so any deal for those games would have to go through them and possibly Wizards of the Coast. Interplay shouldn't be any trouble as I hear they hang around pubs now dancing for small change.
I think System Shock and Planescape Torment are probably the holy grails of classic gaming that you can't find on other DD services so maybe it is one of them. :D
why does this have to happen the day after Mass Effect 2 unlocks?!

The day after or the day before ?
When does ME2 unlocks for you (NA) guys ?

And what about Take-Two?
