Runehamster: I own BG2 and the expansion/sequel/wotsit. Is it worth playing?
...uh, did I just paint a big target on my head?
Bigger target than your head. :)
Oh, and hooray for Arcanum!

MysterD: If Activision is coming here, does this mean Modern Warfare 2 is coming here w/out Steam and without DRM? :P
;)

oh god please no cod's...;)
So, if Activision is coming here - is Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption and Bloodlines both coming here? ;)
I don't get it why people want here too games like BG and Vampire and Deus Ex. You can easily find them for sale even now and they work for modern systems just fine. Plus you can probably find all of them at prices lower than you will find them on gog.com
Plus I have all of them and no desire to see them again :p
If gog will bring newer (non dos) games, then I hope it brings newer games than the previously mentioned games.
One day to go.

gamebin: This might be the most over-hyped digital distribution release ever.

It's all merited.

I own on disc BG games, Planescape, Vamp: Bloodlines, and Deus Ex, etc etc - and I think it'd be great for gamers who for some reason didn't buy a copy can EASILY find one here on GOG for a VERY reasonable price.
Those really are games everybody should play...
So...EA is reviving the Ultima franchise...kinda. Coincidence? :P

Amen. That's the POINT. It's bleeding hard to find half these games on here in hard copies, and even then, the likelihood of them being supported is slim indeed.
I even keep finding games like, say, Evil Genius - it's not terribly old, but I played the demo to death, never could find the actual game, and then i stumbled across it on GOG AND they included all the bonus content and patches. You can't beat the prices and service they give here.

Yes, there's a ton of reasons to have them on GOG instead, or in addition to box copies. Extras, preservation (future compatibility, prevention of loss, etc), support, no disk required, etc.

v1989: @cogadh
And what about "Where history overlaps with the present time. "?

Who cares. Between the earlier Troika clue and now the Arcanum one, there's no denying that at the very least, all the hype is over the old Sierra catalog. Since Activision assimilated most of what was Sierra, then it stands to reason that we are probably going to get Activision.
But, if you need an explanation for that particular clue: Vampire - The Masquerade: Redemption. The game starts in the Dark ages then finishes in modern times and is also an Activision title. I'm sure if I tried real hard I could find an Activision-related title or developer to match all the other clues too, but I just finished dinner and its time for me to watch TV with the family, so it will have to wait until tomorrow.
I own two copies of BG2 (original 4 cd version and the new "BG saga" dvd one). Still, I might buy it again. Did so with freespace 1+2!

Captfitz has a few available socks now, I'm sure he could help you out with that.

Well, to be fair, it's not even trying to be an Ultima game in anything other than name. But yes, some IPs deserve more respect than to be turned into a browser game.

To be honest, i've never finished any of the Ultima games, the sheer number of things one could do in that game always made go somewhere else, and to other stuff. I have s..load of respect for the series, and believe many games should learn from them [on the subject of ROLE PLAYING for example]. So i never developed the fanboy syndrome. ;)
But i'd rather eat a sock than play a browser-based-game-set-in-Ultima-world-made-by-those-responsible-for-Pagan. ;)
