v1989: I thought about series Legacy of Cain.
FF VII and FVIII absolutely no.
There weren't only two main characters.

They didn't say ONLY two. The one that bothers me is the Ohio clue. I'm still not excited about Arcanum, and that's the only reasonable guess I've seen based on the Ohio clue.
Waitaminnit...Arcanum's Sierra, right? I like Sierra...if it's the whole publisher that'll be awesome!

TheCheese33: How so? Was it a post on the forums, or a Twitter or Facebook hint?

Twitter: "Clues anyone? A messenger is not named for a soldier, but precedes one." ;)

It is, it was mentioned a million times here. Also, in some interview, the link is burried somewhere between the guesses and incoherent ramblings.;)

Hint says:"They are two different characters, but they complement each other beautifully."
I was hoping for BG.... without any evidence.

I own BG2 and the expansion/sequel/wotsit. Is it worth playing?
...uh, did I just paint a big target on my head?

Arteveld: Just one that shifts us from ActiBlizz to Sierra. ;)

Um.... how is that a shift? Your sentence reads like this: "Just one that shifts us from Major Publisher to Label owned by said Major Publisher." Since ActiBlizz is collecting the monies at the end of the day either way, how is this different? I am confused. :(

No, why, BG sucks.;)

Because we're not getting the whole ActiBlizz stuff. We've been pointed to AB, then to Sierra. So, SIerra's catalogue.;)

I like it, but I never did finish it though.
I own the collectors edition. Optical media is crap though... Having it here would give me an excuse to conveniently install it as opposed to inconveniently find the optical discs and update it with patches and crap.

TheCheese33: Hey, guys, what did I miss? Any new hints?

Captfitz was proven right. One of the new clues was "Ohio's secret place". There is a town in Ohio called Arcanum and is known as Ohio's Secret Place. Arcanum=Sierra and therefore most likely Activision.

Just because a publisher winds up here, doesn't mean we're going to get the titles from them we want to see. For instance, Ubisoft hold the SSI games that would mean a lot to some people. But I think Ubisoft is more interested in selling their more recent back catalogue.
So the fact that some clues suggest both Troika and Sierra is a good thing for those that want to see their titles here.
@cogadh
And what about "Where history overlaps with the present time. "?

If Activision is coming here, does this mean Modern Warfare 2 is coming here w/out Steam and without DRM? :P
