captfitz: because it wouldn't be just arcanum, bro

It could still be Acti/blizz with another publisher, no?
I haven't read through all the post (obviously) but so far as I can see noone has mentioned Bitmap Brothers :)
I'm excited. Still hoping for squeenix tho. Who owns/owned squeenix?
They are not owned by anyone.

squeenix is a publisher, they own themselves
Ohhh, gotcha. I had some sort of vague idea Eidos owned Squeenix. TBH, I'm just saying that because I've been hoping for years that some legal means of acquiring the PC version of FF7 would appear. Well...one that doesn't involve paying $120 on ebay and hoping you don't get ripped off.
Check the text under "welcome to arcanum" http://www.historicarcanum.com/
tada Ohio,
still, not my find, merits go to someone else.
New clue.

FF7/8 would be flippin awesome. I have 7 boxed but it's a pain in the ass to get running. Someday I hope.

There's supposed to be a nonofficial patch of some sort out there for XP. Not sure if that would work on Vista or 7, though.
Also...I am getting more confused with every clue. I don't know these old games or the companies as well as most folks :P

I think he had in mind that there will be more than one publisher announced.

It's sad when it's easier to emulate a game than play its native version.
