solzariv: I'm not even convinced GOG uses it as a compass for their priorities.

That, or Disney really doesn't want to make money off easy Grim Fandango sales.

JudasIscariot: For the record, I think it's safe for me to come out and say this:

We do use the wishlist but it's not the only thing we use when we decide whether a game should be on here. If we only used the wishlist, you'd never see some great series such as Geneforge.

Heck, I personally use it myself as seen and [url=http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/savant_ascent]here.

tl;dr: we use it but it's one of the many tools at our disposal :)
I guess you could always use it as a representation of what people really, really want by extrapolation. But looking at the current numbers, the impression that I have is that everyone, including gog, has forgotten that it exists and, therefore, it is not very representative, not very useful anymore. Any advance on future plans for it?
I need to go vote for more Sega games...I would like to see Sega on GOG.
It's a little bit weird too... Why are we still being able to vote on completed ones?

Lowe0: To be fair, it's not that I'm concerned that you're not reading it, I'm concerned that Disney/Take 2/Microsoft/etc. aren't reading it.
That's a simple fix.
I vote for games on the wishlist now and then, but it isn't an enjoyable experience. Far too much clutter. The Community Wishlist could definitely use a cleanup. Merging duplicate entries would be the most obvious and biggest impact, there are other things that could help with the clutter.
I doubt any devs or publishers read it. I'm about betting its more of a thing the GOG board of directors uses as to which games to try to get licenses on.
I'd be surprised if devs or pubs even read gaming forums. I assume they ignore them completely, unless they're indie devs, or researching something.

And here is another way: Way

MichaelPalin: Maybe they are looking at its poor state and consider that it is not worth the effort, but there are a couple things that they could do and that require a marginal effort. First, clean it a little bit. No duplicate entries, no entries with multiple games, no expansions or special editions (games on gog tend to be the complete edition anyway). And second, make a monthly summary on the news section to bring awareness. Just mention some milestones here and there or some interesting new entries or maybe some "editor's favorites" from people working at gog. The content is irrelevant, it is just an excuse for the community to remember it and share some games they want votes for.
Yeah I +1 this right here. They do make a effort to keep it streamlined however, the community could take a more active role in the greater alleviation of the issue. I agree that the wishlist could use some more spotlight and I really like the idea of a summary/ re-cap/ editor's picks/ notable mentions, the absence of This week on GOG has really left a void in my gog experience.

I discovered just yesterday that there is in fact a "report duplicate" option on each entry, I intend to use it a lot from now on. Now it only needs a "report console game" button too and the wishlist could clean by itself.

You can vote for New and improved Community Wishlist as well :)

Done.
I've been reporting duplicates like crazy in the last hours (wow!, 6 Daggerfalls!?). I'm close to the 10 votes mark. I fear what I will find deeper than that. If I don't come back, tell Carol and the kids I love them.

I would say don't bother, as there isn't even a way to tell when a wish was added it is impossible to tell which one is the original and from what I've seen duplicates don't get deleted anyway so I'm not sure why it can be reported.

This. I used to report duplicates but it never seems to be noticed so nowadays I just upvote both. *shrug*
