I really miss this game and it is a b**ch to get working 100% on xp. I would pay $20 easy for this one so who else wants this game bad.

Yeah, it's sort of like Quarrantine (which is another one that I'd gladly drop $5.99 for), except Carmageddon is a lot more like Burnout. Much faster paced, much more spectacularly violent, less Crazy Taxi-ish. Carmageddon 1&2 (I prefer to pretend that there was not a third one in the series) were not only fantastic games, but were really on the forefront of "alternative" racing games.

I myself have not had the chance to play either Carmageddons, but I am familliar with the series. It is very violent.
I heard great things about it.

The vehicle physics in the first game are still some of the best ever.
It's another Interplay game, but I'm wondering if the reason it isn't seen for sale on sites like this is because it was banned in several countries?

In Germany it had a toned down release, with robots instead of pedestrians, but still a very cool game

Like hell, yes i would like to see Carmageddon here...
I own the first game, the second as well, but getting Vista proof versions is more than a reasonable reason for me to re-buy them, that's for sure...
Plus the soundtrack in both games rocked badass..!

Indeed, carmageddon should come back, but as far as I know, it is much harder than just use Dosbox or anything else because of its 3D engine that supported only few chipsets (Rave, 3DFX and some others). However, there is an emulators available, like dgVoodoo which is actually a Glide wrapper and for OpenGL cards. None of the emulators that I know hasn't been updated since 2005, so those are pretty old and will not support newer hardware I think. But still, you should give it a shot.

carmageddon 2 still has the best vehicle damage model even today
you could bend the chassis and end up driving round in circles and if you did it just right, and hit something that was thin and strong like a concrete post head on at full speed you could actually rip your car in half

Its is actually kind of funny... My friends got Carmageddon before me. I still had to work out some money to buy 3DFX and when I finally got it, it was christmas again. Funny part is, that this is the only game that I can remember so clearly. The feeling when I was installing it... Hell yes. The installatin took SO LONG... :D Then I can remember the starting line. Too clearly! I was between roaring engines and very long straight street front of us and blocked lanes to left and right. I was like "People are standing on the street?... People are standing... Let them stand. :D "
It was mind boggling game. You were supposed to whip peeps while you were drifting on the street... I have to install that game again :D
I am not finished yet, so keep reading or get bored and go to next thread. ;)
Best part of this game was those filled stadions and other "blood lust" places where was plenty of people just waiting you and your chain ball or electrik car. :D And those cheats... Instant speed and congrete car... Hell yes. :D
