StingingVelvet: I loved this game, and yes on the PC. Breath of fresh air if you ask me after all the super serious shooters we have seen for 4 or more years now.

Metro09: This is why we can't have nice things. While I appreciate the fact it isn't another Modern Warfare/Battlefield clone, console ports like this with 4-5 hour single player and weak/tacked-on multi player are what's destroying the industry. You, sir, are an enigma.
Oh look, Metro09 is here to tell me how I caused the fall of the video game industry again. As usual he spouts opinions and wrong information as facts, and likely as usual he won't reply to my corrections and response. Let's do it again though, for the fuck of it.

The game is 10+ hours long, not 4. I don't give two shits about multiplayer in any game anyway, so this one being "weak" (which is an opinion) doesn't matter at all to me. I do not consider $50 too expensive for 10 hours of great entertainment, a 90 minute blu-ray costs $15-20. Lastly while I am sure the Xbox was the lead platform this game looks awesome and plays well on PC with no significant issues other than GFWL, which in singleplayer you can just completely ignore.

So you can RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE all day long if you want, but at the end of the day I had a blast playing the game, got my money's worth and couldn't really care less about your moral stand on the issue.
The best thing to come out of bulletstorm

You once asked me if I was posting on the right website/forum -- are you sure YOU are? I get it, you grew up in the console generation and are a console gamer but it's ironic you talk about 'preservation' in one thread because by praising stuff like this for $60. It's like you're dusting off an Etruscan urn in one hand while taking a whiz on an Egyptian statue. Crap like this pales in comparison to 90% of the games on GoG. A place like Destructoid seems to be more your bag.

What the hell are you talking about? First off I started PC gaming in 1993, which is almost 20 years ago. Yes, I played the NES and SNES before that, my God I am tainted by the console germ from 20 years ago!

Secondly this game is no less mature, complex, lengthy, deep or worth replaying than something like Duke Nukem 3D, which heavens-to-betsy is available RIGHT HERE ON GOG! No way dude! I thought every GOG game was some deep and complex statement of maturity and length in video games?

You should really get over this need to feel superior that you have. You're no greater an authority on video games than myself, sir.

The level design in Duke Nukem 3D is far better than Bulletstorm which is essentially a rail shooter.

I have no more of a 'need' to give my opinion on the quality of games than you do on endlessly opining on DRM. I also don't claim to be an authority, I just know an inferior product when I see it. I'm sorry that upsets you.

You basically just told me "you don't belong here with the smart kids, boy." You don't think that's being an elitist prick? I sure do! Also knowing an inferior product when you see it is an OPINION you have, no more or less valid that mine (actually less, since your 4 hour estimate shows you don't know much about the game).

Your selective quoting ignores the stupidest of your statements, as usual. Keep following me around and making dumb comments though, it doesn't upset me like you seem to think (hope?) it does.

And yes, just to rub it in since it seems to be the focus of your ire towards me, I DISLIKE DRM BUT BUY DRM'd GAMES ANYWAY! I do it with a smile on my face, a song in my heart, as I skip through the flowery fields.

Er... I actually was posting in this thread before you -- not sure how that constitutes following. If I see someone make a response I feel like replying to, I do so.

Anyway, I bid you goodnight.

You keep replying to posts of mine with the vitriol of someone whose mother was murdered, acting like I am responsible for all the problems you personally have with modern gaming. It's pretty annoying. And as usual you edit down my response into one line you can think of a deflection for.

There was a great editorial in PC Gamer last month about people who "game the system" and then complain the system is broken. It was mainly about Oblivion and people who hop constantly to gain athleticism, then complain the leveling system is broken because you can hop constantly to gain athleticism, but it applies to all manner of games. It was a good article you should read if given the chance. That video reminds me of it, for obvious reasons.

Wow, one part in the whole game. That's some great evidence you've got there, buddy.

michaelleung: It's a CliffyB game isn't it? Which explains the frat boy sounding premise and the massive amounts of testosterone that oozes out of the game boxes. Pass.

StingingVelvet: He had zero to do with it, it's by People Can Fly, who made Painkiller.
I believe he is the producer (one of them) so he had something to do with it.

Well he has some title at Epic, but I don't think he was creatively involved in this game at all. I don't remember ever reading he was, anyway. In either case I don't have some kind of hate on for him, so it matters little to me either way. He kind of annoys me with his anti-PC comments, but more in the sense of "I wish I could play Gears 2" than in the sense of "fuck that guy!"
