And its a giant pile of 'meh'.

6 minutes and 5 seconds of playtime before it locked my 360 up (it seems even it got bored with the game) and I'm definitely not buying it. Its so generic that it feels like they had a checklist of games to they had to emulate and to top it off by apparently making every character a fuckwit... yeah definitely not my thing. Oddly enough its exactly what I'm expecting from duke nukem forever

The main redeeming feature of the demo is that they actually put some effort in by making the non interactive video tutorial (seriously? In this day and age a tutorial you can't actually PLAY?) customised so it actually speaks to the player rather than keeping everything behind the 4th wall. Shame that the person speaking to the player is one of the fuckwits...
I got put off a long time ago, by the impression that the entire game was designed by 14 year olds.
The one good thing about this demo (PS3 version) was that it's the first FPS I've actually been able to play with a controller and not do piss-poor with. Meaning, I can actually hit something. But as far as the game itself goes, I might consider it for $20 or less. But at $60/£34.95 nope. Not interested.
Just played the PC demo... I guess EPIC just reinvented the Rail Shooter. It's fun, I replayed the thing a few times, but... feels very consoleish. Too bad.
The combat doesn't actually matter at all, does it? The bad guys are just there to be killed inventively. Which isn't always such a bad thing so long as there's more to it than just dispatching the cannon fodder.
It screams indie high score type of game that should have been priced around $20 or so -- but the AAA bluster makes it $60 apparently. The core mechanic looks fun so I will pick it up eventually when it is drastically discounted.
Technical issues will forever prevent me from giving it a chance.
I have Bulletstorm for ps3, and while the campaign is short it is also (IMO) very enjoyable. Multiplayer is also very fun, but you might get bored of it after a few hours, depending on how much you like online multiplayer. Overall, I enjoyed it but it isn't really worth $60, more like $40.
I tend to agree with many of you...

I liked this game a lot better when it was called Serious Sam.
I actually did a complete 180 on this game recently. I very vocally trashed it when it came out, but I rented it again last week and you know what? It's a fucking awesome game. After a terrible prologue and weak first chapter, things begin to click in such a satisfying way that makes the game feel like a constant dopamine drip. Even the writing gets better, and you realize that the characters aren't really a bunch of unlikable assholes. The main character gleefully cackles and goes crazy over everything that is happening in an endearing way. Trishka starts off as "woman pumped full of testosterone," but she becomes much more sympathetic as time rolls on. Your friend-turned-cyborg partner has some interesting HAL moments, and the way he charges himself up is hilarious. And General Serrano is quite the endearing villain. Sure, he's unbelievably racist, takes pleasure in his dirty deeds and is a general scumbucket, but there's just something gung-ho about his character that makes him hard to hate.

The action itself comes together in a very satisfying way. The sniper rifle is a blast to use; you lock onto a target and steer the bullet in mid-air. It's very satisfying to blow someone in half with the quad-barreled shotgun, or drill someone to the floor with your trusty drill gun. The visuals are also eye ecstasy. I haven't seen this much color in a FPS since Serious Sam.

I would recommend that anyone who even remotely enjoys FPS titles pick this up.
I loved this game, and yes on the PC. Breath of fresh air if you ask me after all the super serious shooters we have seen for 4 or more years now.
It's a CliffyB game isn't it? Which explains the frat boy sounding premise and the massive amounts of testosterone that oozes out of the game boxes. Pass.

He had zero to do with it, it's by People Can Fly, who made Painkiller.

This is why we can't have nice things. While I appreciate the fact it isn't another Modern Warfare/Battlefield clone, console ports like this with 4-5 hour single player and weak/tacked-on multi player are what's destroying the industry. You, sir, are an enigma.
Finally got the demo working here. It seems altering any settings in game would cut out my audio, and textures were completely missing the first time around except for enemies. Just long grey hallways. Deleting some files and verifying the cache through Steam helped it work long enough to try the game on default settings.

Unless the demo is one of the bad levels in game, I am simply not seeing the draw. I love FPS games a great deal, but this simply felt like a claustrophobic, scripted shooter with little new to offer overall. The leash was alright, but it also just made things feel a bit too easy.

Maybe I am playing it wrong though, or the demo itself is a poor representation of gameplay. I'll grab it when it hits $5 at this point.
