The Book Of Unwrtten Tales is one of my favourite recent adventure games, so it's nice to see that it's getting continuation.

The good thing about this is, that apparently the game is already funded, but they are seeking a bit more funds to enhance the game further, like adding a live orchestra soundtrack and such.

Thanks for posting this :) KINGArt and we are looking forward to your pledges if you can afford it - it is an excellent way of getting the game for less now.
Excellent!
I can't help but echo tomimt's remarks - the original is, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the best adventure games in recent memory; backing its sequel in a heartbeat.
I strongly encourage everyone to watch the (brilliant) pitch video before accusing KINGArt of a shameless money grab. ;)
Add PayPal, and I might step in.
Question. Its supposed to be episodic, however its also going to be on Early Access. Thing is, will the drm free one via gog only going to be available on final release of the last episode or will gog be releasing them one at a time?. bit confused....
Oooh!

I've soured somewhat on Kickstarter campaigns lately, but if Wilbur says it's going to happen... I believe anything that gnome says. I am definitely looking forward to 2015!
I'll back this. Kickstarter payments is still frustrating, so it will likely be near the end of the project. Critter Chronicles was a bit bland but most likely due to such high expectations from having played BouT right before it. I consider BouT to be among the greatest of adventure games, so seeing a sequel is exciting.

One question for the devs lurking and posting...

If you choose to accept the Steam early access, will you also get a DRM free option when the game launches? I've been spoiled by Humble bundle which lets you have both. I'm not a big Steam fan so would only play the early edition game if I could replace it with the DRM-free version after launch. I fully understand that a lot of people abuse the 2 key system, so want to know what I'm getting into before picking a version. If I can only choose one, I'll pass on early access.

Thanks.

The game will not be episodic like we ie did on The Raven on most of the platforms except of GOG. The final game will be released early 2015 both as DRM free and Steam versions depending on the platform you will buy it (DRM Free ie on GOG). However there will be a chance, if you choose using Steam, to get the Steam version already as Early Access which we will start still in 2014. We will add chapter per chapter on Early Access to collect feedback, do changes if possible and desired, to get the game free of bugs etc. - so the only "chapter" release format you will see is during Steam Early Access phase (although you will see the chapter splits in the final game as you had at The Book of Unwritten Tales as well, can you remember? ;) ) - we want to have the best possible community involvement on that title. Of course due to the Steam Early Access rules you will never see the complete final game during Early Access on Steam. As soon as the game is final, it means it will be released everywhere possible - this is also the time when the GOG/DRM preferable users jump in. As KING Art did on Battle Worlds: Kronos the pledger has to decide if he/she wants to have the DRM free or the Steam version, so he/she will not get both (ie not Early Access on Steam and then the DRM free GOG version).

Hope this clarifies all questions.

I asked about this directly on Kickstarter and seem to have gotten a diffrent response, but maybe I'm reading it wrong?

"The final game will be available on various platforms and you can choose which version you would like to get (say GoG DRM-free version). The Steam Early Access chapters are Steam-Only and they are DRM protected. It's just an opportunity to play the game early if you're fine with Steam. BUT you CAN get the Early Access chapters from Steam and then, after the launch of the final game, choose GoG or anything else to get the final game."

Hi,
Thanks for the clarification :)

There's a clarification of the clarification on the Kickstarter comments. To quote the comment from the Kickstarter creator account:
@Moritz (Steam Early Access / GoG): I checked the situation. The Steam early access code is in fact the same code you'll need for the game later on. But if you want to switch platforms after the Early Access (from Steam to GoG for example) we'll provide you a GoG key as well. So it's possible to switch to GoG. Could you please post that in the GoG forums as well? Thanks!
I'm not Moritz but since it wasn't posted here already I took it upon myself. :D

Several Kickstarters which have gone onto Early Access had separate steam keys for alpha and beta only (usually as an addon post KS) , so unless im wrong its entirely possible

Interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed both BoUT games, even if the prequel didn't quite measure up to the original. Definitely a KS to keep track of.

Also, that was probably the best promo vid I've seen for any KS so far with its use of actual game characters and their voice actors plus sarcastic humor. Now... what the hell was mini Johnny 5 doing there? =P
