Three4Flinching: Remember playing GODS on the Mega Drive ages ago, would be great to have it here on GOG.

Tarm: Don't know about Gods. It had amazing visuals and music but it was darn hard. Gameplay sucked but still I liked it. On the Amiga that is.
Edit: Gods intro music

Probably greater in memory then it really was, that goes for a lot of old games thou.
Call me crazy but I still think it's great. I see your point though.

Aliasalpha: You've never heard of the Bitmap Brothers?? Geez, I AM getting old.

Keep in mind I'm relatively new to PC games. :)
They where gods in the late 80s to mid 90s for the atari st and amiga. Xenon was a fantastic game still remember the small video of the guy saying "sector 1" in suit and dark glasss as you started.
All their games oozed quality they where the 16 bit Ultimate (the great 8 bit company that produced knight lore,Alien 8)
I certainly would love to see their games again.
I never thought that their games were spectacularly good but the sheer quality of them couldn't be denied, they set a bar that a lot of developers still can't reach
Only game I got from Bitmap Brothers is Z: Steel Soldiers. And back in the day it ran like molasses on my old PC, now the oldest PC in my house runs it maxed at 120FPS and it actually is like Ground Control 2, looks surprisingly awesome for how old it is and aged very well. Gameplay sucked, but it was nice to look at.
Oh my god, The Chaos Engine is one of my favorite games of all time. I used to own it on the Amiga. So much fun!
Gods, Gods, Gods, Gods, GODS!

Delixe: Z

Oh, God. So many memories. Z was my first purchased PC game, about 13 or 14 years ago.
I'd love to see it here.
I have only played one game by them; it was the second installment of Z. Something like Z: Steel or something like that. Fun game, but both sides were identical, only the color of the units was different.

Funny thing about Z is that it was all about 1 base and capturing territory. In many ways it was the precursor to Company of Heroes and Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War 2.

Z was the same. Actually singleplayer was more about fighting against odds - the AI had more units than you, so you had to outsmart it.

CoH - yes
DoW2 - not that much. It is mainly about controlling points, not territories.
In fact, State of War had some similarities too. There you were capturing factories (by destroying them) and they were automatically producing units for you.

Delixe: Soundtrack mainly. Example

I still remember listening to that on a PC-speaker :).
And I just checked The Chaos Engine 2 on YouTube - why can't they make music like this in games any more?
