The one with Hank Scorpio. Period.

Well, and a few other ones but I don't know the titles. Loved the one with the Free Mason parody (they were called Stone Masons I think?). Also the ones with Kamp Krusty and the military academy for kids come to my mind as well as the one where Skinner goes back to the military.

Austrobogulator: The one that springs to mind is 22 Short Films About Springfield.
Ha, I wanted to say that it's impossible to answer, but I like your choice, and I'm think I'll go with that one too.
It's really en enormously excellent episode.

DaCostaBR: I was going to say the Treehouse of Horror V. While the third segment wasn't all that great, The Shinning and Time and Punishment are probably the funniest things I've seen on the Simpsons.
Treehouse of Horror V, the one where Principal Skinner starts eating and serving the kids at school for food? Hell yeah, that was one of the best if not the best Treehouse episodes.
Too many choices... Can't do it :(
Leftorium anyone?

But this is a seriously excelllllent thread ;-p
Homer's Enemy (Frank Grimes episode) and Homer at the Bat (softball episode) are two of my favorites.
I don't care for many Simpsons episodes beyond season 4, but You Only Move Twice was a great one.
While I have watched the show pretty much any time I found it while channel surfing, I'm not a die hard follower. I think the show ranges from good casual fun and ingenious satire, at least starting with season 3 and onwards as the show cemented it's identity and characters.

For me the most memorable and enjoyable episodes are as follows:

- Homer's Enemy. It was fun to see the show go so self-aware and have a one-off character totally freak out by Homer's typical antics. The ending was perfectly dark.

- The one where Homer eats some crazy hot chili and has a wild mind trip. The episode was funny, visually awesome and had a fantastic emotional subplot regarding Homer and Marge's marriage.

- The Jerusalem episode. I'm not sure why I liked it so much, but I'd say the jokes were tight and well timed throughout the whole episode. If I recall, they never actually mention the idea of "Jerusalem syndrome" but still used it for a sub plot. I love it when this show uses pop culture and literary history in subtle ways.

- The one where Homer starts working for an evil genius. Another episode where every joke worked and the timing was perfect throughout.

- The one where Lisa find the remains of an apparent angel at an archeological dig. The episode works on so many levels. Obviously it is making fun of American Evangelical Christiansy and uninformed belief in general, but at the same time it is very respectful of true believers. Lisa is a skeptic the whole episode except for a very brief moment near the end before the final twist. For me it cemented the episode as both funny and thought provoking. It should be noted that some of my favourite X-Files episodes are the ones where Scully the skeptic becomes the believer (usually when Mulder in turn is unusually skeptical).. Maybe it's just a thing with me (a former skeptic).
As far as the newer ones, I got a kick out of the iPod one with Lisa where she contacts Apple support. Not a completely great episode, but it was a little humorous.
One Fish, Two Fish, Blowfish, Blue Fish

About 6 years ago one pf polish tv stations started broadcasting The Simpsons but they stopped somewhere after I think Season 2. I was crushed. I want to buy them on DVD but 14 Seasons @ 40$/each so...:-(

Probably cheaper to get netflix, if they have the Simpsons. I'm sure you can marathon through what 20 seasons in a week...tops a month.

They don't. Hulu plus might but I'd be surprised if that were available in Poland.

You can still watch five of the newest episodes (not that I'd want to) for free on Hulu, again, probably regionally-restricted.

You could use a VPN to bypass the region lock or, if nothing else, attain them through more nefarious methods.

Don't bother buying anything beyond Season 10, that's when the scale tipped heavily towards the mediocre/outright bad end of the spectrum. The handful of good episodes in the later seasons just isn't worth paying full price considering all the crap you get with it. Anything beyond Season 14 is just bad, period. Avoid at all costs...

Hehe, here we have TV station which airs 2 episodes each day (3 on weekends) every day for last more than 4 years (I think the TV started on 1st April 2009), so you certainly can get your dose of Simpsons here and I don't think there is anyone who haven't seen them yet. :-)
Holy shit! I just learned...every episode has an own Wikipedia article ... O_o

Beside, the reason why I found this out is the ninth episode of the eighth season: El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Jomer (The Mysterious Voyage of Homer) which is my favourit at this moment ;)

PS: why... not sure... this episode gave me a pretty kafkaesk feeling.... maybe time to see it again
