My current PC game collection is lacking a good anti-gravity racer. F-Zero is obviously a Nintendo exclusive and trying to find the DOS version of Wipeout 2097/XL isn't an easy task, so I'm asking this: What's the best PC alternative for Wipeout or F-Zero? It should be something that isn't too hard to find or to get to run.
Does it have to be anti gravity? Trackmania can get pretty fast and hecktic on the speed maps. The only other thing I can think of that might fit is starwars episode one pod racer, though I can't say I was a fan of that.

Should have what you need, or at least it's the closest sort of games i could find.

Rollcage and Rollcage Stage 2 are not anti-gravity, but awesomely fun anyway.

I would first remind you of the existence of console emulators. A PSX emulator should play Wipeout perfectly, and depending on your specs you could play Gamecube/Wii/PS2 F-Zero or Wipeout too. On PC, I remember enjoying Hi-Octane - but I was young and can't really be sure if it was actually good.
Definitely get Hi-Octane. It's for DOS and you are gonna love it.
One game you might like that's a bit different to your requirements is Proun.
If you cannot find PC version of Wipeout - have you considered buying PSX version and run it on PSX emulator? It should be easy and cheap (right now on biggest polish auction there are 4 auctions of that game for less than $10). Moreover emulator will make it better looking (higher resolution etc.) I played PSX version of Wipeout on my PC - runs flawlesly.

OH... I'd love to see Rollcage Stage 2 on GOG....
Isn't quite what you are looking for, but have you ever checked into Torus Trooper? It's more of a shmup than racing game, but it features fast movement down a pretty crazy track. Essentially you race against the clock, earning time as you go, losing time as you die, and it becomes increasingly difficult. Very fun stuff, imho.

There is also Pyroblazer, but I have heard little about it and would recommend doing some research first.

I'm going to have to give that a try. I like the strategy of giving it away for free and encouraging people to pay for it if they like it.

But, it does look interesting.

So beautiful. I cant believe a game with such simple graphics looks so damn good. It blows my mind.
If you don't mind emulation then try Aerogauge for N64.

PC I would suggest Powerslide. Awesome fun.
Is Slipstream 5000 any good? I think I saw a copy in a nearby flea market some time ago.
